Absolutely Fantastic
Having seen some negative views on Trustpilot, spurred me on a little to add my own voice. I'm a recent new member to the National Trust having received a Gift Membership. I've already been to some fantastic properties, with stunning gardens. I'm not interested in the politics side of other peoples reviews, as we all have a view and you cant please everyone or change world history. But thinking that a family membership with 2 adults is £126 per year, I think this represents fantastic value for money. Less money than a large branded Latte per week.
DOGS ON BEACHES!
Just back from Cornwall where I visited a lovely beach, what really spoiled it for me was the selfish minority of dog owners whom took their dogs onto the beach, despite clear warnings on the website and signage that dogs were banned!. I understand the while covid nonsense does not help, but please can they warden control this, we pay enough for the season tickets. So the couple in the grey BMW and their dog called Pete can sod off accordingly!...
Would Churchill approve??
Would Churchill approve?? After paying £40 for two house and garden tickets at Chartwell, I was expected to pay £4 for the privilege of parking at the site! Unless you're a member of course! Total con...
National trust have been terrible this…
National trust have been terrible this last year and have still not opened many of their properties. Very few places are also dog friendly, including many of their gardens. They are completely out of touch, overpriced, pretentious Muppets. Give your money to the National Trust for Scotland instead. They have organised online talks and other events at every opportunity throughout covid for all their members.
Visiting Mottisfont on 23/07/21
Visiting Mottisfont on 23/07/21, a hot day, we took the paths through the wild meadows. The banks of sound from the insects was phenomenal. The butterflies danced to the insect orchestra either singularly or romantically in couples. I was transported back to my childhood and walks with my mother as I swished my hands through the long grasses. It was a wonderful sensory overload. On this occasion I loved the National Trust even more. National Trust, I say National Treasure. Thank You.
Membership Renewal - Taking members for granted
Taking their members for granted on renewal membership prices following Covid. Despite being unable to offer, for most of this past year, the full product offering that members purchased (houses not open, limited capacity to get into grounds), the NT feel it's appropriate not to offer any discount for 2021-22 membership renewals. The best they can do is 2019 prices.
You re-started allowing the chasing of…
You re-started allowing the chasing of wildlife again with packs of dogs under the ruse of "trail hunting" or is it still under police investigation? You should be ashamed!
As a member of the NT
As a member of the NT, I just came here to counterbalance the negative reviews from irrelevant, history-denying crybabies who refuse to believe that LGBTQ+ people exist and have contributed to our history, as well as that slavery did occur and Britain had a part in it. I’m here to say that I am very happy with my membership, which has encouraged me to explore England and beyond and has taught me so much about this country. Their work of preserving and transferring knowledge is essential.
Do they understand their members?
I've lapsed our membership. I'll return when they ditch the dysfunctional booking system. The whole point of NT for many is to visit a local site when the weather is nice, often on the spur of the moment. I accept covid restrictions but English Heritage managed to implement a sensible system so why can't NT? Allocating slots once a week irritates everyone I've spoken to. It's just a trip to a historic property, not a rock concert!
Be grateful for the National Trust
Big proponent of the National Trust and all they do. Floating almost entirely on the generosity of volunteers, we should be grateful that our country has such a force for conservation. This comment section is a sad place of childlike entitlement and petty bitterness.
