When this years membership ends
When this years membership ends, I will not be renewing my long time with the National Trust. The 'woke' carryings on, do not go down well with me. We have our history and it stays where it always was. You should not even consider changing things. So when the Trusts are exactly as they always were for years and years, I am OUT.
I am so grateful for the national trust…
I am so grateful for the national trust in this country preserving our heritage. Always a brilliant day out, love the shops and cafe areas, kind staff and overall great service. I bought a picnic blanket from the online shop today and on delivery I realised I had ordered the wrong size. Called up to request a return and they very kindly exchanged for the more expensive larger size and waived the difference and also said I could keep the incorrect item! So kind. I always make sure to buy from the shops whenever I go as the money goes to an important cause. I am not a member yet, but look forward to becoming one as soon as I am able to. Thank you NT!
lots of nice places to visit
lots of nice places to visit. never had a problem with staff. tea rooms are nice. places often have nice walks near by. nice gardens to relax in.
Overpriced cafeterias 😠
We all expect to pay to enter the national trust sites, and it's normally a good day out , but I don't understand how they can justify the prices in the cafeterias, the low quality produce is unacceptable at those prices , I feel so sorry for family's with small children ,who are expected to pay those prices , I'm sure if they charged a normal price they would sell a lot more and have a lot more return customers .
Great places
Great for weekend getaways. Going to NT parks and gardens during the lockdowns and reopening really helped us. The NT has the best offering of cultural places across England in my opinion. Miles better than English Heritage.
Shame on you National Trust
Shame on you National Trust. I visited Watersmeet, Lynmouth today and have you locked the doors and thrown away the key. I understand there have been landslips and the lodge is closed but you seem to have forgotten about such a lovely building/area. Bins were full/overloaded, weeds on the terrace and I know we all like to keep the grass longer to encourage wildlife but at least keep up a bit of maintenance and please don't say you cannot gain access as when I was there today a Carpenter managed to get tools and timber to one of the bridges by the lodge to carry out bridge repairs. A little bit of thought and weekly maintenance would not go amiss - shame on you National Trust.
I will never visit another national…
I will never visit another national trust property if they continue their radical woke nonsense! It's a shame as I have loved visiting many national trust properties in the past. However, I have to stick to my principles.
National Trust selling 3 acres of…
National Trust selling 3 acres of bequeathed woodland to a property developer - turning down a bid from the local community. So disappointed as a former member and volunteer. #savebondsmeadow
Polesdon Lacey, rules, rules and more rules!
Having enjoyed joint husband and wife membership for a number of years and having visited quite a number of properties, this is the first time I’ve had cause to write an adverse review. Polesdon Lacey, nestling in the Surrey Hills, a delight? Initial experience was positive, greeted by a male member of staff at the door of the house, who regaled us with colourful stories surrounding the last owner of the property. He’d had a hand in researching the subsequent book of her life, his enthusiasm, in keeping with previous visits to other properties, brought to life the visit. Unfortunately, our visit was ruined almost before it began. My wife was challenged in the house by a “jobsworth woman”, who demanded she carry her small rucksack over the front of her body and not by the straps on her back. No reason was offered but “rules is rules”! Despite my wife’s protestations that this was uncomfortable and made it impossible to use her camera, “rules is rules!” Suffice to say, neither of us was happy and for me the visit was ruined. Further to this, with the exception of one lady volunteer guide, none of the staff in the rooms looked the slightest bit interested in offering any detail in the rooms! Sineage was also particularly abundant. Our visit was completely ruined though in the restaurant. £4.95 for soup and a roll. Rip off, particularly as my wife doesn’t eat granary bread and she was to,d that there was no white bread option! Yet there were numerous white bread sandwiches on sale. We won’t be visiting this property again.
Why Are the NT Using Eventbrite
The National Trust should be ashamed of using Eventbrite for their bookings - have they bothered to even look at Eventbrite on this site? Eventbrite have the worst website and should be really embarrassed by it - so user unfriendly.
