Unethical

A few reviews have mentioned this already but this is a company with unethical practices. They'll enforce a callout fee of £120 + VAT even if they can't guarantee a fix or at least a possible solution. In my case they wanted to charge £595 + VAT for some exploratory work that may or may not help with a gully blockage I had, when I refused I received 6 calls chasing me for payment of the callout fee and the engineer sat in his van on my drive. To be fair to the engineer he was as helpful as he could be and almost apologetic about the whole situation. AVOID and find someone else that will only charge if they can actually help you.

-10/10 Don't use this company

-10 out of 10! Do not use this company! I have been running a design and build company for 20 years and as I was unable to make it to the property I asked PM247 to take a look at the boiler as there was a very small leak on a water valve under the system. I paid the first payment of £140 (call out charge) and then had a call from them demanding I pay £900 more as the flew had a small gap between the brickwork, I then said I would find alternative quotes for the work and asked them to leave the property as they found it. They did not do this and removed the power and cut the gas off to the boiler. When visiting the property with a local plumber he quoted me £140 in parts and £75 in labor pushed the rubber flange back to the wall and used a small amount of cement to close the so-called gap. As the boiler was only 3 years old, he said they should have never disconnected it! When calling them back I was told all I could do was send them an email and fobbed off.

Beware

Beware! I was quoted £120 for a simple rodding job, suddenly we need a power hose, bumping up the price to nearly £500! I have one of these and I could buy 2 more for that price. Said I was not interested just a rodding please. Was offered a cash alternative (Shhh) “saving VAT,” of £350. Politely declined as far as I knew VAT hadn’t reached that rate yet. Threatened with bailiffs if I didn’t pay. New cash offer of £250 but I’d still have to pay the call out fee. By now it’s coming so fast it’s hard to keep up. Sadly unable to say the same for my plumber’s fly. Went for original rodding as this was now cheapest offer on the table - successfull - so power hose wasn’t needed after all. Funny that. Came to pay and a £15 bank transfer fee appeared! Did manage to avoid this in the end. My advice steer well clear.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this plumber at all costs. This is poor service, lack of accountability, and frankly, daylight robbery. I will be escalating this issue to Checkatrade and other platforms. I hired PM247 for a plumbing service that cost me £354, and the experience was a disaster. The plumber incorrectly installed the washing machine drain hose, causing dirty, greasy water to flow back into the washing machine every time I used the kitchen sink. This led to a foul smell and ongoing inconvenience. When I contacted them to fix the issue, plumber came but denied any fault in the installation. I then had to hire a second plumber, who immediately identified the problem and fixed it by reinstalling the drain hose properly. Despite providing PM247 with photographic evidence and a clear explanation of the issue, they refused to acknowledge their mistake and insisted on a formal report from the second plumber—something that would cost me more money. The refusal to accept responsibility and their demand for unnecessary paperwork is completely unacceptable, especially given the obvious evidence of their faulty work. It’s embarrassing that something so clear, even to someone without plumbing experience, could not be identified by their supposedly trained plumber. I would not recommend PM247 to anyone. This is poor service, lack of accountability, and frankly, daylight robbery. I will be escalating this issue to Checkatrade and other platforms.

Avoid at all costs! Sales tactics similar to operating a scam!

Thought I was returning to a company I used several years ago, seems these guys have taken over and operate in an extortionate manner. Never again. Plumber came out under the initial low callout fee, within minutes has a look and says it needs specialist equipment, job is now 3x the price, but you're committed to the callout fee if nothing further is done. With no real way out, proceed with the job. Spends 5 minutes and the drain is unblocked with the engineer rushing away quickly. Later find out the drain is still blocked and overflowing and of course this means another callout charge. Absolute cowboys looking to fleece you. Carelessly ended up with them because didn't realise this is another company that took over from the last one I used and searched by name for. This must be the business model here of luring people in with past, reputable company names.

Not Impressed with the service

Not Impressed with the service I offered to send photos of a small issue but the declined and insisted on sending an engineer anyway at a cost of £144 - the engineer took 1 min to say there was no issue and yet they still harrassed for payment

Very dissapointing

Very dissapointed that 2 hours into the expected time that they should arrive they stated that they could not attend. Do not offer a time if you cannot keep it.

Overstated the work required to justify quote

Overstated the work required to justify quote of £714, job completed in a third of the time we were told it would take. Got to wonder why the engineer over estimated the work so much? Also FYI engineers won't start without payment being made upfront first. Just something to be aware of.
