Fantastic from start to finish!

Today we have all the eco4 grant work completed on our property. New air source heat pump New radiators and additional radiators plumbed in. New convection heaters New solar panels Full house internal wall insulation Walls boarded and plastered Extractor vents Wall venting Window trickle vents New electric boards New plug sockets New light switches Loft insulation. Hot water system with new tank and thermostat The workmanship and effort the whole team of workmen has been absolutely above and beyond our expectations. Communication from the admin team. Brilliant Plumbers. Amazing Solar fitter’s. Amazing Electricians. Amazing Plasters. Amazing Insulated wall fitters. Amazing The rubbish collectors. Amazing The project manager. Amazing Considering how much work has been done whilst we have been living in the house. It has astonished me how tidy and respectful everyone has been. Super efficient and super professional. Our old house which is cold and damp has been transformed into what feels like a new build. Immediately after the works were finished the house feels warm and dry. You can feel the comfort in the morning and the evenings when we cosy up for the evening in our lovely now warm home. What is strange is the radiators never seem to get too hot yet the house is toasty warm. A big thank you to all the guys who have transformed our home. A special thanks to Mike Phillips project manager and Gregg & Dobbo plasterers & internal wall insulation. Along with the superb plumbing team from Yorkshire and the electricians from Wirral. Simply brilliant. Words can’t thank you all enough.

Fantastic

The service has been absolutely fantastic and the solar panels and air source heat pump are a dream. LMF have been so quick from the start of the process to the end and we are so chuffed to have a new system in before it gets really cold. Anything technical was explained really well and the system is working perfectly. 99% of the tradesmen were an absolute pleasure to have around, especially the plumbers and flat roof insulators who were pure diamonds. I would recommend LMF to anyone.

Customer service was second to none

Customer service was perfect, I was kept informed from start to finish, all the tradesmen were polite and efficient, they all turned up early morning and in order of works to be carried out. nothing was too much trouble for them, they even tidied up once finished and left no mess. I was continually informed how things were progressing and given personal phone numbers should I need any further Information. Highly recommend using LMF for this work

Many issues with their work, no one is taking ownership to resolve them

My daughter had an Eco 4 retrofit on her house. Nice people, in the main, and some good work. However, a number of issues. She has 2 small children and works in health care and literally only has a spare hour a week to ring, and these issues are not being dealt with. They say they will come in to fix, but don't turn up. She was even lied to and told by the heating engineers that they were a different company than the original fitters! The issues are: 1. The inverter has been put in a damp cellar and no damp proof membrane was used, and it was mounted on the wall. The mounting board is now covered in mold, after only a couple of months. There was no additional ventilation added in the cellar and she is concerned the inverter might overheat. In addition, the insulation they have added upstairs now prevents new ventilation being added in the cellar walls. This will need a different mounting, and a fan added, I suspect. This needs to be resolved by you. 2. One storage heater is too small. They originally put in a larger one but it prevented the front door from opening properly! My daughter suggested they move a couple of wires to get it to fit, and instead they put in a much smaller one. They have promised to come back, move the wires and put in the correct size heater, but so far have missed two appointments. Each time my daughter has had to move the furniture around in preparation. 3. They said they would fit a further heater on the ground floor, but again, two missed appointments to do the work. 4. The trickle vents they fitted prevented the windows locking. You cannot have unlocked windows with small children. When she took it out it ripped the sealing strip our of her double glazed window, which had been cut in an attempt to fit the device in the first place. 5. Every heater that was put in was not in the place my daughter asked for it to be. They didn't check back, simply put them in the wrong place. These need to be moved. One is on totally the wrong wall and means the bed can't be put back in place. 6. When materials were stored in the sitting room, they were laid over a wood burning stove, and pushed it sideways, causing a leak in the chimney pipe. When it was lit, tar and smoke came out of the hole that had been caused. She is now having to get an expensive woodbirner specialist back in to fix it. Obviously this was not fitted by you, but broken by your contractors. 7. Emily, Mike, Matt are all very nice, but mainly uncontactable and no one is owning these issues and my daughter is passed from pillar to post with no resolution. 8. Shame the insulation in the attic rooms was fitted in a way that reduces daylight into the rooms. Why couldn't they put the sections by the windows on a gradient, rather than boxing in the windows? 21/10_24. Thank you Lisa, I really appreciate your prompt reply. Mike was a star today and passed my concerns on to Sam, and Ryan, one of the managers, is coming to see my daughter, tomorrow at 8:35am when she has 20 mins between dropping the children off at school and starting work. I am crossing my fingers that Ryan will take ownership and that the radiator and inverter issues can be resolved quickly. After that the electrician and then Mike are due in for snagging tasks. I will contact you only if work stops and appointments start to be missed again. Thank you for your support. I can see that this is a decent company, but currently my daughter is experiencing a perfect storm of errors. Thank you again. It appears that all is done now, except for moving the position of the inverter, which is hanging off the wall with two nails, on an outer wall, which is damp, is covered in mold, and needs to be moved. In addition, I am concerned about recent press coverage on the way that solid wall insulation is applied. Can you please confirm that it has been completed properly and in a way that will not cause a damp problem in the future? e.g The correct way to install solid wall insulation is to attach rigid insulation boards directly to the interior wall surface, ensuring a good seal at the joints, and always placing the insulation on the warm side of the wall (typically the inside of the room), with the vapor barrier facing inwards; the wrong way would be to install the insulation with gaps between boards, not properly sealing joints, or placing the vapor barrier on the cold side of the wall, which could lead to moisture build-up and condensation issues. Have you fitted breathable insulations to manage moisture? As the property is old and we informed the contractors that there was already a damp issue. I look forward to your reply and further action.
