Just dont
Frankly one star is too much for a job that started in August and is still going on. Woeful organisation and customer service. No project management, contractors arriving unannounced and communication with customer confusing and on numerous occasions not turning up. House left in an awful state following work which as mentioned is still not complete. Dangerous electric work with live wires left by supposed professionals. All this whilst I was living with my two children. Seriously, you asked for a review , so I'll give you a quick one " Just Don't".
LMF Experience
Helpful employees. The standard of work was excellent could not fault the work carried out. I would like to thank the teams Jimmy, Linas, Ian Mark, Wayne, Mike, and the other s who I haven’t got their names Thanks to Zoe for being so helpful. I would like recommend LMF to anyone.
All aspects of programme organisation and installation were successful.
Communication from the office was prompt, efficient and friendly. The installation of the various stages was completed efficiently to a high standard and the work areas were left in a clean condition. The approach of the engineers was professional and explanations of the work involved were instructive.
New Heating system
LMF fitted a new Heat source pump , solar panels and new radiators 2 weeks ago at my parents home . despite several phone calls and emails they have still not picked up the waste, including old radiators and a boiler . The packaging was also left , which during the recent storm Darragh was blown around theirs and neighbours houses . All contractors were good , but disappointing that this has still been left .
Great work Dave, Tim and Paul.
Great work, great team. Very professional and cheerful team - thank you to Dave Paul and Tim for your best efforts insulating our challenging home. Your humour, pride in your work, tidiness and commitment to the highest standards have left us in a much better place than we started. Thanks guys, it’s been a pleasure!
Poor coordination resulting in many visits
I commissioned these guys to install solar on a slate roof (no battery) The coordination was pretty poor > Sales tried to upsell, optimisers, battery and bird guards, no quotes provided matching original discussion of solar only, resulting in requotes. > Electrician arrived with wrong inverter and with an unneeded battery > Replacement inverter also incorrect so electrician had to rearrange visit > Panel team 1 didn't have correct system to do job. Not sure why correct system wasn't specified at survey time (or perhaps it was and it wasn't communicated...) > Replacement inverter 2 was arranged to be fitted before panels fit so electrician couldn't attached inverter to panels > Panel team 2 didn't clean up > Panel team 2 used incorrect "strings" this resulted in two sets of cables being laid to inverter from panels, the old set is still there just cut. And it resulted in the electrician being there for longer. > Had minor leak after install, paid a roofer to fix myself > Scaffold removal team left without taking all scaffold down (apparently another teams van was pulled over by police so the team at my house had to leave to help unload). So had to rearrange to finish. > Electrician was unable to show me how to use the monitoring app, PM staff didn't reply to my request for help on this point. > They don't send MCS Certificate or handover docs until you've paid. The accounts team chased me to pay even though I could not verify that the system was working without the app. > Initial comms over why a new fuse board was needed was poor. A PM eventually explained why with a solid reason. > The payment details pdf (and payment details on the invoice) contains the trading name of the company "LMF Energy Services", but the name of the company at the bank is actually "LIVE MANAGE FACILIATE LTD", the accounts team said multiple customers have raised this so beats me why the PDFs have not been changed - whilst this sounds trivial sending £1000s of pounds in an online transfer to the "wrong name" is disconcerting. Have sent photos and emails to project managers, I don't know if they have been forwarded to directors (am happy to do so) I don't think there are bad people involved, the teams work hard. I just think this company appears too busy to manage comms between teams and to the client. This meant I needed to facilitate access for electrician on 4 occasions, panel fitters on 2 occasions (one overlapped with electrician) and scaffold teams on 3 occasions. I didn't feel like I was talked through the install process and I didn't feel like there was a PM trying to get things done for me or genuinely understanding that having nearly 10 visits to the house is difficult to accommodate. Some of the staff are vocally critical of comms and organisation. I don't blame this directly on the PM team either, there is likely too much for them to do. I am awaiting a DNO response letter (I believe they have submitted it and its routine to take a couple of weeks) Pros They used the Genius system, which looks like a really good system for slate rooves. And to be fair to the first panel team they didn't want to do the work without that system. The cost was competitive. The survey guy gave me lots of confidence and I believe he communicated his findings but I'm not convinced his findings were translated into the process. Overall I'm happy that I went ahead with this - BUT - I think the ride could have been a lot smoother EDIT: 13/12/2024. I have noticed that there is a small depression in the ceiling underneath were the inverter was installed in the loft.
Very professional tradesmen
All the tradesmen who carried out work were extremely professional and left the work area tidy. They explained how the system worked . I would definitely recommend LMF to friends and family
Solar panel installation
Punctual, tidy, polite and communicative.
Arrived and finished job on time
Arrived and finished job on time . Cleaned up after themselves. Explained everything.
Installation
All my questions were answered. The installers and scaffolders were good. The surveyor answered my questions very well and discussed in depth changes to suit my requirements and the merits of additional equipment. What would have been very helpful, was that the surveyor could have cardboard mock ups of the hardware that would show an accurate scale of an installation when fitted.
