Excellent communication

Although my order arrived late it was due to issues around the pandemic and everyone doing the same as me, revamping the garden. The company kept me informed with regular text messages updating me as to the expected delivery dates. I would consider using this company again.

Not just for paving!

I bought a Rowlinson Garden Chest from Paving Superstore and it turned out to be a great purchase. I found the same product elsewhere online, but none as competitively-priced as Paving Superstore, especially when taking into account shipping. Overall I was very impressed with the product, the communication and the quick delivery. I would definitely come back to Paving Superstore for other garden supplies - as well as paving :)

Supply of paving slabs

Ordered paving slabs from this supplier as they were the only one offering to split the manufacturer's standard pack into a smaller quantity. Very nice people to deal with, but there were delays in getting a revised quote from them and I was miffed to learn the price had increased since receiving the original quote. After the order was placed, I was informed the product would be delivered directly by their supplier. Having chased up delivery, I was given a delivery date which was not met (a day wasted). No alternative date was provided and it was by sheer chance that a delivery truck arrived unannounced just as my wife and I were leaving the house to go out. Whilst the delivery problems could be attributed to Paving Superstore's supplier my contract was with Paving Superstore and they could have been much more proactive in communicating with me and managing the delivery process.

Avoid this firm like the plague

Avoid this firm like the plague, they are rip of merchants. I ordered 1 small pallet of coping stone but ordered the wrong item, when wanting to return the goods , as is my right to do so under the consumer act I was informed that I would need to cover the cost of pick up and restocking charge, and was quoted almost £200> i questioned why it was this high and was told it covering their direct costs but this was a lie. The manufacturers sent an email to show the true cost of pick up to be £35 and restocking costs 20% which i assumed would be 20% of the wholesale price> I paid £550 , when checking other suppliers the same item was less than £350 so assuming the wholesale price to be less than £300 the restock cost would be less than £60. When disputing with Bruce the company director, he lies through his teeth , so if I where you dont order from this company, read the reviews from genuine disgruntle reviewers on here, they over charge for goods and for returns.

Appalling service

I tried to order a tub of paving mortar, VDW800. Having searched the internet about this product, PavingSuperstore's site popped up with a detailed instruction sheet on how to use it, so I followed the link to their website, chose the colour I wanted and placed the order. This was £108, so not a cheap tub of filler from a local DIY store. There were no product details in the order confirmation so I had to trust the right product was being processed but, when the product arrived the next day, it was VDW 840, not the one I was expecting. I rejected delivery, the mortar went back with the same courier and I emailed PavingSuperstore straight afterwards to let them know I’d returned it. The company replied soon after and stated that they only sell VDW 840 and, sure enough, in the small print it does state that, so I accept I should have been more diligent in exhaustively checking the product I’d bought. However, since then (now 2 weeks later) all I’ve received is a series of emails saying they are waiting for return courier costs, restocking costs and details of any other charges the supplier (note, not PavingSuperstore) may impose before they can determine what refund I may be due. Frustrated at the lack of progress I phoned PavingSuperstore today and was told that there was nothing more that could be done, there was no-one I could escalate to as apparently it was the Managing Director who’d been answering all my emails, and when I repeated my question about why it was taking so long to process a simple refund, the support team person I was talking to said she had already answered that, couldn’t tell me any more and put the phone down on me. From other reviews it seem that if all goes well customers have been happy with the service, but beware if anything goes slightly awry ! For me, 2 weeks after my returned delivery, I have no product, am currently sitting £108 out of pocket, have no idea whatsoever how much I may get returned and now know there is zero point contacting PavingSuperstore again.
