service

Just when I was ready to finish ordering and pay I lost contact with my treatment advisor for a week. He later said he was on vacation. Was there no one to cover his work during his absence?

It was actually a very smooth process…

It was actually a very smooth process and my aligners are a perfect fit so far. A couple hiccups with the financial process, but the communication was great and my problems were solved in a timely manner. I would recommend.

They are so quick with responses…

They are so quick with responses initially until you're a customer and then after that it takes weeks/months to get a response. They ended up canceling my plan and have been having "issues" processing my refund for several months. They also promised to send a new set of my final number of aligners and only received my top aligners. I would not recommend this company to any one. They're terrible.

Spent 4 hours on hold waiting to speak to someone to then be told you are closed . 9 hours in line waiting to speak to someone 2 days in a row. I have spent 1 week calling trying to cancel and back and forth with no resolution. I get told I’d receive a call by the end of the day and got no call. Still no resolution.

Expensive, incomplete treatment, poor customer service

My four month treatment plan has turned into 21 months and STILL isn’t finished. It’s like pulling teeth to get help from customer service. And from having to constantly wear the aligners, my upper gums (which is where I wear the aligners, not on the lower) have gotten gingivitis—Despite that I daily clean the aligners with a hypersonic cleaner. Every time I try to get help from representatives I get asked the same generic questions and get asked for more pictures via email (which is cumbersome) even though I just spent time uploading pictures through the app. Through this whole process, I have only talked to someone over live video ONCE. And I asked to recently trying to get more help and they denied it. I would never recommend this company. $2000 down the drain for a massive headache dealing with their customer service, and incomplete treatment.

For truly dentist directed care, go to the dentist.

TLDR: Byte's aligner treatment process is convenient but lacks personalized clinician feedback, raising concerns about treatment effectiveness and readiness for retainers. Despite a 3-star rating for overall satisfaction, I recommend seeking in-person orthodontic care for more comprehensive treatment. While I aim to be fair by giving Byte a 3-star rating due to the overall convenience of the process and general satisfaction with my teeth, I have significant reservations about the level of professional oversight provided. As my treatment progressed, it became apparent that my individual case may not be receiving personalized attention. Although I was required to submit photos and answer questions during check-ins, there's a noticeable lack of meaningful feedback regarding my treatment progress or tooth alignment. The process seems largely automated, with little evidence of clinician review. When I accidentally indicated dissatisfaction with my aligners and resubmitted photos, I received no response, further reinforcing this impression. As I approach the end of my treatment plan, Byte appears to rely heavily on my self-evaluation to determine next steps. My attempts to address these concerns were met with requests for additional photos and repetitive questions, despite this information already being available in my app check-ins. When I expressed unease about submitting more potentially unreviewed photos and requested an in-person consultation, I was informed this service was only available with the Byte+ plan. Moreover, I was characterized as an "unhelpful participant in my treatment plan," which I found both unprofessional and disheartening. Given that Byte costs over $2,000, I expected access to actual dental professionals throughout the treatment. In retrospect, for this price point, I would suggest going to a dentist instead.

They took my payment and no one ever followed up. It took 3 months to get my trays. Don’t make a payment until they fully complete the process of impressions and obtain dental records. Marketing is great but they should invest in customer service following up
