Items as advertised, 1st Dibs quick responses.

I ordered a piece of art from a seller on 1stdibs and didn’t receive a COA. I reached out to the seller and asked why the art didn’t come with verification. After no response from the seller I requested a refund and was again not responded to, so I emailed 1stdibs. After a month of back and forth they denied my return because the seller has a 1 day return policy and put in on me to verify the authenticity of the work. A buyer should be able to buy with confidence. 😕

Excellent communication with Sellers, great pictures of what is being sold, product arrives quickly, packaged well and secured. I have had the opportunity to work with two different Sellers and the customer service is the best and very consistent!

I’m jewelry designer vendor on 1 Dibs. So far my experience is extremely poor. Seems as this site is only for 2 hand merchandise not new. There are a lot of people who can’t afford any if this merchandise and just wasting your time or they bid once and that’s it. Some binders trying to scam me too. I got bids of $175 on $56,000 pieces. After few auctions 1Dibs keep asking to lower the price all the time.. to the point that there is no reason to be on it because you not going to make any money at all. Also the help on 1 Dibs it’s impossible to get. Almost seems as it is waist of time and money…

This truly couldn't have been much more of a poorer example of a disjointed vetting system. I have no doubt there have been situations like mine before, and I would expect that there is guidance to this effect. I made an offer on a ring, it was rejected based on being too low (it wasn't that low but hey, in the eye of the seller right), they came back with an offer, I accepted, paid, all good. Until, 2 days after the proposed dispatch date and the seller contacts me to say they cannot find the 'branded' ring box and box that this item would normally come with. I said that I could source one (ebay for £50) however she didn't want to refund me that value, due to her margins. She then offered £25 (so I would be out of pocket), now, the principle here is she is a professional that could probably source a box for less than me, point is I tried to resolve it and she started talking about her margins, upshot is she cancelled the order (despite being asked twice to not do so), she then told 1st Dibs that the item wasn't available, and they have done, well so far - diddly squat. nada. They desribe 'exceptional' customer service and so on, bottom line is they've gone dark on me, not impressed especially as the item in question was not cheap nor easy to find.

Software is unobtrusive and easy to work with, quite intuitive. Buyer and seller communicate effortlessly to conclude their business accurately and efficiently, I think.
