Horrible, horrible, fraudulent site that mistreats customers and protects sellers. This was the worst buying experience of my life. I would have lost over USD $4000 if it had not been for my bank processing a chargeback. The seller stopped responding when I flagged that the item was not as described, then actually refused to accept the item when I sent it back. Because she wouldn't take it, the carrier returned it to me in Australia via the "most economical means" which meant it languished on a boat squashed in a shipping container for months! 1stDibs ignored me for weeks until they realised I'd got my money back. Then they hassled me non-stop to send the item back, which I did, but I kind of wish I'd kept it because they're so so terrible. DO NOT BUY FROM 1STDIBS! They also deleted my negative review of the seller from their site, because they're flagrantly deceptive. Update 11 October 2022: their response below is a total fiction. They know full well that I was trying to contact them constantly for two weeks and was ignored, and that their buyer protection promise doesn't exist. They also have not "investigated" or "responded" to the deletion of my review in the past week as they said they would.

I bought an Eames chair Order 48762252 on the 19th September and then on the 23rd September the order was cancelled with no explanation. Did they find some one who offered them more money? Anyway not reliable!!

An excellent purchase experience. Couldn't be happier Was not expecting to purchase, but got an excellent price for a beautiful ring. Will definitely shop at 1stDibs again.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY- I ordered a ring that I specifically asked to be delivered before I was leaving for out of town in a week and was promised this would be the case. The ring was NOT delivered by the date promised and was NOT delivered to our home late or ever as we have RING DOORBELL footage that shows USPS arriving and delivering a package that day, but never FEDEX even though FEDEX claimed I signed for the delivery (again I was OUT OF TOWN, so not possible). I supplied 1st Dibbs the RING DOORBELL footage, my plane and hotel itineraries as proof and informed them I requested delivery by a specific date and they told me FEDEX denied the claim, as it was signed for (a straight line) and delivered (lie) and the only thing I could do is to file a police report for theft. How can I claim something was stolen if it was never received? How can this be on me when the contract was between 1st Dibbs and FEDEX to have me sign for the delivery and that never took take place? How can a company not care that you paid them with nothing in return and will not dispute FEDEX over their customers claims and proof?? DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING from these people. THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU GET YOUR GOODS OR NOT- DISGUSTING PRACTICES.

Information was sent immediately on purchase and deliver was executed within a couple of days. Tracking was simple and the seller communicated when dispatched. Very happy buyer.

How insanely expensive can things be, well, if you buy things from this site, your absolutely for sure pay double, three times or maybe four times more than other second hand markets, it’s almost funny to see what sellers wish for. Maybe they hope for rich people in late night party mode to buy things when they’re in the spending mood?! ;)

I've had great experiences ordering from 1st Dibs. It's a furniture and decor go-to of mine, and my interior designer uses it extensively as well.
