i like the !st dibs site very much. they have lot of things to choose from. the sellers are all a class act.

They invite private citizens on their main webpage, to apply to sell artwork, but when I did, and took the time to post my photos, I immediately received a decline that they ONLY accept dealers and auction houses! This is a deceptive business practice!

I ordered an $2k+ lamp. Doesn't work and 1st Dibs doesn't care. It wasn't sent during the window promised. After I reached out, it still took a long time, but eventually arrived. It needed an electrician to install. Light was so late that we had to get the electrician back. The electrician can't get the light to work, it's European voltage. 1st Dibs says it's past the 7 days so they won't do anything for me. 1. This lightmaker sells two versions of this light, one for US and one for Europe. With 1st Dibs leverage, I am sure they could secure a new transformer for us but they won't do anything. Meanwhile, I bought from 1st Dibs thinking they would offer some protection given it was an international purchase. 10/29/22 To be clear: we know that companies can work around policies, they can take responsibility for mistakes if they want to. 1st Dibs chooses not to. It would be the ethical thing to help out but clearly ethics is not their driving force. Second, why would a company as American-pointed as 1st Dibs sell an unadaptable light to a USA customer?

Beautiful painting and wonderful customer service!! I purchased a very large painting by Adolfo Ramon which required shipment from Europe to Puerto Rico. The process could not have gone more smoothly, and the support I received throughout the process was so helpful. The gallery promptly assisted with customs issues and helped me avoid unnecessary delays in shipment. The painting is even more beautiful in person!
