I would thoroughly recommend going to Vincenzo to get laser eye surgery. The whole experience was easy and organised, and I felt safe and well looked after with Moorfields and Vincenzo's years of expertise. Getting laser eye surgery has been one of the best decisions of my life, so if you are thinking about it, just go for it!

I was very impressed with the whole experience under Mr Maurino’s team . The whole atmosphere was very calm and obviously now my cataracts are gone my vision is so much better . Very pleased with my cataract surgery, both eyes within one week by Mr. Maurino. All his reassurances and advices turned out to be correct. I have been worrying about it for a long time. I previously had a multi focal lens fitted elsewhere, this had been unsuccessful and after a few attempts to correct the problem my eye had taken a battering resulting in damage to the cornea. I presented this to Vincenzo Maurino and he exchanged the lens for a standard fitment, many surgeons would shy away from this as the lens had been fitted for some time and had secured itself to the fabric of my eye. The surgery went well and later he completed a corneal graft and laser treatment resulting in pin sharp vision. A truly amazing man.

I was recommended Mr. Maurino by Professor Foster to perform my lens replacement, as I have complicated eyes due to being born prematurely. I have worn very thick glasses since the age of 5 and in latter years hard contact lenses. I wanted to have lens replacement not only for better vision, but also to correct my acute angled glaucoma. Mr. Maurino put me at ease on my first appointment and assured me that the procedure would be a success. After surgery I was amazed how much I could see. I had ICL surgery done in March 2021 under the care of Mr. Maurino and his team. The whole experience was great, I immediately felt at ease and reassured about all the doubts I had around having eye surgery. My life has changed completely and I wish I had done this sooner. Mr Maurino is an excellent surgeon and has a great team that works with him; they are always available to answer questions and very professional. Highly recommended!!

Gone! I am 22 and had a mild myopia (-2.50D) in my left eye for about 5 years, which after my operation by the excellent Mr Maurino, is gone! I also now have perfect astigmatism in my left eye with is very nice and such a correction is not really possible with glasses (which restrict one’s effective field of view as well). The convenience of waking up and not having to worry about wearing or protecting or cleaning glasses/contact lens…it’s wonderful! (My father has worn glasses most of his life, so I am aware of the inconvenience that living a life with glasses entails). Finally having stereoscopic vision is also, fantastic…looking at trees for example is so much richer. Levelling things is also easier. The procedure I choose was ‘No Touch LASEK’ (aka Trans PRK) because I may be restarting Contact Sports in the future. An added advantage is that this procedure produces much less risk of dry eyes (hence theoretically needing eye drops, hence impacting on the quality of life). For me the extra recovery time this method needed was a small price to pay. The initial consultation was thorough, with all of Mr Maurino’s team displaying the utmost professionalism and courtesy. The literature was supplied was clear and comprehensive. The waiting time from first consultation to operation was about 5 weeks. The procedure is performed by Mr Maurino, and with decades of experience and 1000’s of successful operations, one is in good hands indeed. If Mr Maurino was unsatisfied with the final quality of the vision then he offered to redo it free of charge. The actual operation was painless (all staff were very reassuring during the operation), just a very intense clicking and whirring with a very funky light show. Then I was given a bag of medications, Mr Maurino’s telephone number with the instructions to phone if I had any problems (which happily was not the case). The post operative discomfort I found to be less than a corneal abrasion that I sustained when I was 14, (and you get a lot more help, medications and instructions from Mr Maurino’s team than you get from the NHS let me tell you!) Moorfield’s is easy to reach; it’s practically on top of Liverpool Street station. Also the consultation and operation take place in practically the same building…so no going to opposite ends of the country for the different stages of the process, like some other providers. With regards to cost, I think one gets a lot for one’s money…3 eye tests at least, OCT scans, and then finally Mr Maurino’s time and the operation itself (with the most up to date equipment) – which is what you would expect from the world-renowned Moorefield’s eye hospital. And really when it comes to something as important as one’s eyes, cutting corners is unwise. In conclusion I am very happy with the end result – everything to do with the whole process was excellent and I would definitely recommend Mr Maurino and his team to anyone who was contemplating eye surgery. An excellent experience from start to finish. Very clear communications, polite and friendly staff and an outstanding outcome, I have gone from very poor eyesight due to cataract to 20/20 vision. Improvement was almost immediate. I wanted to add an update - an unrelated eye emergency and in a different country at the time, Mr Maurino was kind enough to engage with me for some advice and guidance, most kind and beyond any reasonable expectations.
