My Mum Maria (then at the age of 84) has undergone a right-eye intense cataract surgery with Prof. Maurino and recovered within 3 months to the level she can read without using glasses. She was told by him to come over next year to do the other eye but having temporary solved her problem and given her age, she has postponed it till 5 years later, when she almost can't see with her other (left) eye. Although she is at an advance age now but still in good health conditions, Prof. Maurino accepted (after carefully weighed advantages against risks involved) to go ahead with the surgery. 3 months later she was told she can pass a DRIVING VISUAL TEST with that (left) eye. Her vision with the right eye (treated more than 5 years ago) is still at the level of the year of surgery.
