I had cataract surgery on both eyes, I had high myopic eyes since child and used to wear glasses and contact lenses, the last specially become less and less confortable, until it was almost impossible using them and working at the PC all day. Due to the high myopia the only option was cataract/lens exchange and the surgeries changed my life in a way that only who has being high myopic since child can understand. The process has been easy and straightforward since the first appointment, surgery and recover. Dr. Maursino, staff and hospital are exceptional.

I had my LASIK eye surgery in September 2018. Dr Maurino and his team were incredible. I was very anxious during the surgery and Dr Maurino and his team kept reassuring me and made me feel at ease. The surgery lasted around 5 mins and whilst there was slight discomfort it was over before I knew it. The nurses were talking to me the entire time and explaining every step. The surgery went smoothly and apart from bruising (which lasted approx 4 weeks) I had no issues post surgery. I now have 20/20 vision. Usually Moorfields offers 1 follow up appt the next day and a second one a few months later. Due to my anxious nature and suffering from dry eyes pre-surgery, I’ve had 4 follow up appointments after surgery and Dr Maurino has also agreed to see me again in a years time to make sure everything is in order. Couldn’t be happier with the service I received and forever grateful for my perfect vision. Dr Maurino is extremely professional and I would highly reccomend him to anyone that is considering laser surgery.

I have MS and I decided that having laser eye surgery would partially alleviate problems I was having both with my balance and with eye infections from contact lenses. I decided for such important treatment that despite its higher cost I would go to Moorfields Eye Hospital which has a worldwide reputation for excellence. My choice has been completely justified from start to finish. I had a thorough examination with Dr Maurino and his team and was advised given my age and eye condition to choose Refractive Lens Exchange ('RLE'). However before operating Mr Maurino firstly required that I treated my dry eyes for 1 month before a re-examination with him for potential treatment. Unlike some other entities offering these services to MS patients, Mr Maurino was relaxed on the subject and encouraging. The dry eyes medication was successful and after 4 weeks from my 1st consultation I was able to proceed with RLE on both eyes at a 1 week interval. The facilities and staff at Moorfields Private were first class and Dr Maurino was professional and demonstrated his expertise throughout. He explained the minimal risks involved and set my heart at rest. As a result of the surgery I can now see unaided with perfect long and short vision. In fact I had no difficulty with my vision from the very next day after the procedure, nor any discomfort. The treatment by Dr Maurino and his team has been a huge benefit to me, especially as an MS sufferer and I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone considering such ophthalmic surgery.

My distance vision is not as expected after the operation. Otherwise my vision is excellent.

Had bilateral cataract surgery using Zeiss multi focal implants March 2018, followed by Laser Vision Correction by LASIK March 2019 on left eye. I have had a great experience with Mr Maurino, who has been supporting me during all the phases of the operation. During the first consultation, he walked me through all the benefits and risks of the surgery, reassuring me on the post-surgery period and on what would have been the effects in the days immediately after the surgery.
