Horrible! been a customer some time. Last few orders the books were seriously damaged from improper packing. They lost me.

Great books, great prices ... customer service not so great.

It has been great to find a lot of usually very expensive colouring books at very decent prices and, in spite of all the reviews I've read about books being packed in bad boxes, I have been very impressed with the boxes, which seem to be strong and are also wrapped in heavy plastic, so maybe they have addressed that issue. They still do not put anything inside the boxes to stop the books from flopping around in there but thankfully I haven't received any damaged books. Shipping is slow but that doesn't really bother me. Customer service, however, is not very helpful in my opinion. I accidentally ordered two copied of one item and messaged them immediately after ordering, requesting they remove one. They said they couldn't do it because the order had already begun processing. I would have thought something as simple as that could have been done during processing but apparently not. When the error is on their end, like not having a book in stock that was listed as being in stock, they have no problem at all taking it off the order during processing. I also asked that two of my orders, which I had placed on the same day be combined, in order to get the 15% discount they were running at the time. The answer to that was also no, with the only explanation being that it was not possible. I really feel like they could have been more helpful. I am not in the habit of making requests like this but have done so over the years with other companies I order things from frequently, who have always tried their very best to help. It seems like these guys just can't be bothered. That is very disappointing to me as a customer.

Doesn't ship and then lies about it

Ordered a book from them Thursday last week. I was sent a usps tracking number pretty soon after. After no movement on the tracking I inquired about it Wednesday afternoon this week. That is 4 business days not counting the weekend. Plenty of time to see some movement one would think. They responded that it can take up to 3 business days and possibly more if the order was placed close to the weekend (again on day 4 with no updates). Fair enough. I decided to wait a couple of days in hopes to see something. Not 5 minutes after my interaction there was an update to usps. But usps updated what their shipping partner (which is in house btw) stated. It is now Friday and nothing has changed since then. Usps still does not have the package which tells me that it has not shipped. I have worked shipping before so I know how the process works. I also know that it does not take a week to leave the warehouse. I needed the book by this Sunday and given that nothing has shown up today means a refund for me. I email them today asking them to refund me. I tell them that lying to customers about shipping is bad customer service and I would rather not do business with such company. They refuse to refund me and claim that it is with their shipping partner and is on the way. They sent me the internal tracking from their shipping partner as evidence of this. It shows that the package has been circling the east coast for the past week. It shows a scan in my home city in VA on the day of my original email. It then shows a scan on the 13th with it in PA then with in only a couple of hours back in VA where it has sat for the past day and half. Usps still shows that it has not received the package and that it is in PA. Their evidence just makes them look even worse. I don't know what to believe. If my book doesn't show up soon I guess a chargeback will be in order. Edit: Book showed up so I'm updating the score. Still low as I feel customer service could be better. They should also fix their shipping process to be more transparent to the customer.

Good experience

At first, I struggled logging in but then managed to get in. I was worried because a lot of reviews said that their packages arrived in bad condition. My books arrived in great condition, and there was a plastic covering so it didn't get waterlogged. The books looked new!

Buyer Beware - Order made through Amazon was fulfilled…

Order made through Amazon was fulfilled by Book Outlet. They claimed book/package was delivered when it wasn’t. I was home entire day and at time USPS carrier arrived with normal mail. No pkg was delivered to my address. Had no idea Amazon wouldn’t be handling this order as never have issue with their deliveries. Company will not issue refund despite being told pkg was not delivered, it is not anywhere around my home. Amazon has instructed them to issue refund which it appears they are refusing to do. Book was a gift and I just placed order for book again and this time ensured it is coming directly from Amazon. Would never order anything on Amazon coming from this company,

Books arrived damaged, NO PACKING MATERIAL

Books arrived damaged due to NO PACKING MATERIAL at all in the oversized box. That's a recipe for guaranteed damage. I love the selection, but the prices have just taken a jump, and the packing situation makes every order a gamble. I hope they rectify their practices, as I'd hate to stop shopping there - which I do multiple times a month.

Closed my account. Here's why.

I've enjoyed discounted books from Bookoutlet for some years, however over the past while, books are arriving in packaging that provides little to no protection in oversized boxes such that there is considerable damage done in transit. Order 63e981640638d8de24c0bdee is but one example and I have not contacted Bookoutlet in every case but certainly several times. I have received refunds, yes and have been treated respectfully. However, I can buy good condition after market like-new and remainder books from other sellers who do package well. I note that I have read other reviews online complaining of the same poor packaging so I am not alone. The matter is not being addressed as, over time, I have continued to receive books damaged in transit.

I have bought from here many times, I really like the prices and that they have Star Trek books. My only complaint is that the books are not safely packed, I think just a bit of bubble wrap or peanuts etc would fix this. When I had an issue with some items arriving damaged inside the box, they took care of it right away, and I was happy with their solution. I see reviews about the boxes being thin and too easily damaged, but I think they might have changed to better boxes recently as the boxes are thick and safe now. I definitely think it with a little package filler for safety, this site will become 5 stars

I love bookoutlet

The prices and selection of books are GREAT. Shipping was timely. My only complaint is the packaging could use some sort of bubble wrap or cushion material. Some of my books arrived with slight tears on the dust jackets, hardcover tips bent, and one cover page folded.
