He was far from helpful

He was far from helpful. I expressed concern because my house was experiencing a total of 4 maintenance emergencies and the most he could do was tell me to wait for a call. I asked to speak to someone else several time and instead ended up having a pointless conversation with Marvy that solved none of my problems. In fact it seemed he enjoyed my frustration a bit.

WARNING! DO NOT RENT FROM FIRST KEY

First Key Rentals with property managers: Lee Drakeford and Lauren Cherek WARNING! Please do not ignore this review! My husband and I work full time and I do not have time to post reviews but I need to make everyone aware of how terrible this company is and to stay away at all costs. First Key Rental Company is a complete nightmare. It is virtually impossible to get a hold of anyone to answer any questions. My husband has been in the army for 26 years so we move quite frequently. However, this particular move process has been awful due to First Key. You must apply and pay a hefty application fee in hopes you get picked for the home you want to rent. Once we were notified of our acceptance we tried numerous times to contact anyone to inquire about keys, move in information, etc. Every call took us to random operators who knew nothing and could give us no information about our move in process. Eventually we were given a “move in coordinator” who conveniently was never in her office and also proved to be very unhelpful. Due to our military move we were unable to move in on the date given to us and the company was unwilling to allow us to push move in up even a day. We ended up paying double rent for a month in order for First Key to not give the home to the next person in line. Finally, after weeks of calling and asking, we were given the name of a person to contact, Lee Drakeford. He is listed as our property administrator. It took me an entire afternoon to get a hold of him to get answers on how to access the key to the property to move in. Now we are six months in and the main problem we have is that if something PREEXISTING FROM THIS BROKEN DOWN HOME breaks, we are responsible for paying a service fee of $150 for the maintenance to come look and fix anything. I have never been responsible for financially maintaining a home I was renting. All appliances, toilets, fans are out of date, broken, and moldy and we are expected to pay to fix and update the home. We just spent two weeks waiting in line for maintenance to come and fix our shaky fans, broken stove, broken garbage disposal, and moldy leaking toilet. The maintenance team is arrogant and spent the entire visit threatening to charge us for all of the pre-existing broken crap in our home. I’m still waiting to hear back after they “closed the ticket” to let me know what to do about all of the broken things that weren’t fixed. I know a lot of people read reviews and ignore them but I’m from a hard working family. I just want to warn people to avoid First Key. They will rip you off, charge you, and charge you more for structural damages that should be taken care of by the company.
