Truly horrendous experience.

Truly horrendous experience. Had tried them before to reasonable success and canceled at the start of Covid. 50% off offer caught my eye and resubscribed at the highest tier and was pleasantly surprised by the box. But the downside: 1. No proactive feedback collection - unless you're returning an item, they make 0 effort to check on whether you're happy. Especially annoying as some brands simply don't fit someone's body shape, but they'll just keep sending you the same products. 2. Forgot you subscribed? Don't worry, they won't bother reminding you. They'll just bill your credit card and so an Amex alert will let you know you're about to get a box of new stuff. 3. No refunds. Don't like it? You can return it. 4. They'll only cover the shipping on one return - to the extent that they assume that cost of the second return will be a disincentive - "if you still decide to return" said the email they sent. 5. The returns process is tiresome and they do everything they can to make you keep the crap they send. 6. They don't bother reading your requests. These guys suck - steer clear. If you want a style box for new gear, use Stitch Fix.

Seems like I received the same style clothes each month. Had a plan and for first three months asked for a tie but seemed to be only sent polo shirts. Decided to try again and still no tie after requesting it. Tried this again and stitch fix. Stitch fixed seem to actually send me clothes I requested. So cancelling again

Bravo! I was unsure if “clothes by the box” would work for me… or anyone. I was considered by friends to be a decent dresser. But when I recently went shopping to “up my game” I was stuck. I felt like there was nothing I was inspired to buy. And it felt like I kept buying the same slim fit blue shirt over and over again. So I gave stately a shot. Wow, wow! I don’t know how their stylist do it! I was so happy to open my first box and immediately drew new compliments from friends and colleagues with the styles they chose for me. And to boot their service is legendary! So responsive and caring. Well done stately!!

Somewhat of a Scam - Updated after 1 exchange

Sure you get a box of clothes, but as others have said - Just Don't. If you don't like the items there is NO RETURN OPTION, only exchanges which are tiresome and annoying. I even tried contacting them prior to my order being fulfilled or shipped and they informed me that they could not cancel an order once placed so certainly make sure you are on board with dropping $300 on clothes that you cannot really return and you are at someone else's mercy to decide what style/items you will "like". Rolled the dice once and I will not be doing it again. ------ Follow up ------Processed an exchange and like others have noted the stylist does not take into account much in the way of the feedback you provide. I wouldn't say they ignore it completely but the items provided will end up being donated as they are not my style and you have to pay to process another exchange, which again decreases the value in the service. If their business model turns more towards purchasing curated outfits then I may consider them again but I would not invest the money for the hodge podge of outfit items (none make a complete outfit) that I received.

Good idea. Terrible execution. The idea there is a stylist actually reading your profile and custom making a box for you is a joke. I had to exchange twice. The third was no better than the first. Worst 320 bucks I've ever spent. Booooo!

DO NOT LISTEN TO STYLE REQUESTS AT ALL

First box to include a bunch of bonus items. I didn't like one thing and the sylist CLEARLY didn't listen to my notes and requests for what I was looking for. They let me exchange and 2nd box still nothing I liked or wanted. They now want me to pay shipping to exchange a second time. How is it my fault you don't listen to the style preferences at all and completely missed on the 1st box and 2nd box...
