Cushion fibre smells

It’s coming up for 1 year since we bought our sofa. Firstly the positive, the purchase and delivery of our sofa was perfect. Customer service for a tiny query after a couple of weeks was excellent. We went for the family friendly cotton touch fabric which looks as good as new 1 year on. For cushion filling we went for the fibre filling which was fine until the summer. When the temperature rose the sofa, or to be exact the cushion filling started to smell. To start with we tried Febreze which toned it down but in the very hot summer the smell got worse. I spoke to customer service and they said they had no experience of any such issue with other customers. So unhappily we lived with it thinking it will go away in time and as the autumn approached the smell diminished. Until we turned the heating on. With a warmer room the smell is back and today we’ve got in effect a summer day and the smell from the sofa is quite overpowering. I can’t believe we’re the only customer this has happened to so I’d like to hear if anyone else has the same problem before trying to seek a remedy from the company. Update 02/11/24 We have since been contacted by Lounge Co. They explained about the ‘bad batch’ and have ordered a replacement sofa which is due in 6 weeks. They have also removed the offending sofa and lent us another until the replacement is here. I have upped our star rating to 4 because we do like the sofa and I think they have responded well to the complaint. I just can’t make it 5 stars because I feel they really could have got in touch to fix the problem without this review. Also I did contact them to discuss the smell and was brushed off with “your’s is the only complaint we’ve had”. I now know that wasn’t true.
