The pick-up was straightforward at Picton. I received a call the day before, enquiring whether I wanted to be met at the ferry, which didn't apply but the offer was appreciated. The car drove very well and worked for our group of 4 adults regarding storage and internal space. An easy drop-off in Nelson with minimal waiting for the transfer to Nelson airport.

Hassle free, no fuss experience, while picking up at Queenstown and also dropping off at Auckland.

I hired a car for about 20 days over the Christmas holidays and had a good experience overall. I was pleased to get a pretty new car and in good conditions, as well as being a bigger car than the one I had originally booked (at no extra cost), which made traveling more comfortable. The only downside is that although the car (Toyota Camry) had a big screen, it didn't have a navigation system and it wasn't possible to connect it to Android Auto either. This meant that I had to use my own Google Maps, but there was no phone holder, so the passenger had to hold the phone by hand. Just a little inconvenient but not a big deal. The booster seats I booked for my children were fine, if only a little battered and dirty. I got gold insurance cover, which was ideal as it gave me peace of mind, although in the end nothing happened to the car. Both pick up (Wellington city) and drop off (Auckland city) were quick and easy. Would use Omega again!
