Happy with the job and the people however customer service could have been better. Seems that unless we contacted the company things weren’t progressing

Good to go second time round! but a year on not so

I purchased a solar panel and battery storage system from Greener Energy Group. My overriding feeling is the staff are good but very much still learning what they are doing. From the salesman Craig who appeared very knowledgeable, but when I said this system would allow us to have power during a “power cut” which he agreed, but then on the first attempted installation the electrician informed me that was not the case as the inverter requires mains power to function. The first electrician Chris informed me he was going to connect the panels in two strings of 6 panels but then informed me that due to the way the roof installation squad had connected up the panels it would have to be a single string of 12 panels (It might of helped to have an installation plan which was supposed to be produced and signed by me prior to installation as per the T’s&C’s of their contract). After installing the battery and inverter beside the consumer unit and about to connect the panels up I was informed there was a problem with the 3 panels on the south facing roof (no voltage) and the roof squad would have to return to check out what the problem was (turns out one of the panel leads had not been connected) and they would be back the next day. After waiting in all day and no sign of the install team I tried to contact Greener energy group via the phone only to get an answering machine, so I sent an email and received a call from Johnathan, re-scheduling the roofers and electrician for a weeks’ time. Johnathon also tried to explain that the 3 panels on the south face would not be enough to start up the inverter we had a discussion around this and I asked him to get the contract manager to call me prior to the install squad coming back. A few days later and not hearing from anyone, the squad due in two days, I emailed again asking the contract manager to contact me. On the day before the install squad arrived Tony the contract manager called and explained that you cannot connect two different roof aspects together on one string and 3 panels are not enough as a single string to start up the inverter so he was going to have the roof guys install an extra panel on the south roof free of charge so that the system would work correctly. Tony appeared very knowledgeable and took the time to explain this through and as I said to him at the time he should make sure his team are aware of this from the salesman to the installation team. The install team fitted the extra panel and discovered the disconnected cable and Mike the electrician connected the two strings up and commissioned the system which is now working perfectly thanks. Update:- a year on from my install and i contacted Greener energy group to ask about my "First System Annual Performance Check" only to find out that the manual that states this in the handover pack is and I quote "This document is not part of Greener Energy Group’s approved QMS and therefore has been send out to you by a member of the team without authorisation. You are correct, they have amended what looks like an Australian Manual" this give no confidence that this company is a quality company.

Solar power to the people

The first part of our move toward being greener. Our solar panels were installed and connected today. The fitters and electricians were pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. All the staff at Greener Energy Group have been very helpful. I look forward to the installation of the air source heat pump.

Very disappointing

So I've not actually had any work done yet, and nor will I. I've tried to get a quotation 3 times now on there online system, however I've not had any response until today. A lady phoned me to run through my enquiry, I answered several questions and then was advised that I would need to get someone out to give a survey. I understood all the reasons why however what I could not understand is they have refused to give me a quotation if my partner is not with me at the time. Like most family's we work alternative shifts so getting a time together isn't really possible for several weeks. I asked why they could not come out and quote with just myself, then myself and my partner could make a decision. The woman could not confirm why. It seemed like they only wanted both us there, at the same time to make a decision on the day. Very disappointed with the customer service.

Emergency call out

Emergency call out Monday as outside unit had water pouring out. Gave immediate advice and promised call back Tuesday - call back Tuesday am and engineer out, problem sorted and heating/water back on by lunchtime Great service Thank you

From the professional visit from the…

From the professional visit from the sales gentleman, to only seven days later and the roofing team installed our two banks of solar panels, six to the front and six to the rear of our home. They were finished within three hours and shortly after the electricians arrived. They in turn installed our battery pack and inverter along with all the wiring. It was all very neat and tidy when they left. But before they did they gave us good instructions on the safe use of our system. To be honest, there is only one button for us to touch in order to see the power coming in from the solar panels and the charge in the battery pack. Everything else sorts itself out. The only thing we didn’t get was a dongle so we can view the information on the inverter on our phones or tablets. We are going to get one but I would advise you to get this when the electricians are there initially. Thank you for a super system. It makes a sunny day all the more rewarding. PB

Had small problem with a leaky radiator valve. Reported this at about 9.45am. Fixed before lunchtime.👍

Quick, responsive, professional and good customer service.

The company were professional and friendly from initial contact to completion of the solar PV installation. Staff were very helpful, if they weren't available at the time and you left a message they phoned you back as soon as they could. Unusal in my experience of other firms. Was kept up to date regarding progress of the order and planned installation dates. Enquiry to completed installation was quick. There was a minor delay with installation due to the need for scaffolding, quickly sorted and revised installation date agreed and met. Installers, both for the roof panel installation and electrics were friendly, explained what was being done and were very tidy in relation to the installation and how they left the house. Initially there was a problem with the datalogger but this was quickly sorted. The installer called in at 7.30pm on a Friday night on his way home to resolve the issue. That is customer service. The installers demonstrated how the system worked as they handed it over and within 2-3 days the office sent an e-mail with full documentation, including that needed to make a SEG application. Recommend the company and would use them again.
