NT Board ignoring its core audience

As with many other posters, I resent the NT Boards determination to be woke and the frantic efforts to appeal to a younger more "diverse" membership. M&S tried that and look where it got them. After shaming the original owners of properties for involvement in the Slave Trade (often very indirectly), will you be looking at the majority of 18th and 19th century properties that were founded on the Coal Trade. Research the conditions young children worked and died in or watch your grand dads die of miners lung as I did as a teenager and say it wasn't a form of slavery. History is frozen in time and you cannot judge by todays standards. Slavery was a terrible thing and still is in Africa and The Middle East but so where many other things.

I have just cancelled my family membership.

I have just cancelled my family membership of 20 years. You have no right to determine how history should be written, that isn't in your remit. Airbrushing history is the way communism continues. Go woke, go broke.

CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIPS ALL IF YOU ARE…

CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIPS ALL IF YOU ARE AN ANIMAL LOVER !! This is a group who allow illegal hunting on their land. Foxes and stags are all chased with hounds and put through a long and painful death while the tea rooms are full and their picturesque gardens are being walked. Google it and find out that the NT are just a bloodthirsty bunch of toffs !! DISGRACEFUL !!!

As so many others have stated

As so many others have stated, time to cancel my family membership. I have been a member for many years, and have continued to maintain payments during covid. The final straw, looking to book tickets for Christmas at Waddesden Manor, Members now expected to pay to attend after taking my money for nothing for the last 6 months, unbelieveable.

Appaling woke organisation

Appaling woke organisation. PC bias anti white and anti British. Overwhelmingly lefty middle class metrosexual run. Hates the people who donated their houses and who pay their subs - so give them back then if they were anti gay slavers. Box ticking nonsense. Another corrupt morally bankrupt organisation that needs to be defunded along with the BBC and Channel 4. The are the epitome of white liberal privileged Marxist BLM XR supporting dimwits. The will never get a penny from me. Make the National Trust History.

National Trust's left-wing agenda

The National Trust is becoming woke so my spouse and I both cancelled our memberships. Update. Now that the leadership of the National Trust have shown support for BLM - which in my mind is one of the most dangerous ideologies and movements - I'm definitely not going to be renewing.

Fantastic charity

National Trust is such a fantastic charity, lots of historic properties and opportunities for days out, stretch your legs, and fresh air!

Rip off National Trust

We renewed our membership in May, but since then have struggled to be able to book any visitor slots. NT gave no priority to members, I suppose because they were making more money from non members. None of the houses or restaurants are open, which we were not advised about when our renewal reminder was sent through. We have not been able to use our membership at all since renewal, and have therefore asked for a refund. Their response was that they will give a discount on the next renewal! They also said they do not give refunds as they are a charity. Does being a charity entitle them to rip off members of the public? This matter has now been escalated. It's a disgrace.

Oh dear National Trust

Oh dear National Trust, I appreciate the difficulties 2020 may have presented you but your response has been poor: - I’ve struggled to book a place to visit one of your properties - When I tried to cancel my membership (£126 family) you made it very difficult over the email, questioning why I wanted to leave... etc. - You took payment a month later regardless! This is not good enough!
