The chicken coop I ordered was well made and easy to assemble. We have loved the way it looks and the chickens use it just the way it is intended to be used. I feel so much better knowing they have a strong, safe coop to protect them from predators. Great communication from the company as well!

Great quality materials make it worth the additional spend! We're excited to get the chicks and get started. One thing to look for improvement is the printed instruction didn't always seem match the current model part number, however the online videos bridged the gap! We're very happy, thank you Roost & Root team.
The coop is nice, but needs QC inspection before delivery
The coop is nice, but we expected perhaps higher inspection of the names before sending the product to the customers. The names said “xxx horns” instead of “xxx hens.” Although, the owners were quick to resend us a new name piece after we sent over the picture of what it said vs what was requested via the order form, the new name was carved on a piece of wood that was really hard to read. Also, some of the pieces of wood wasn’t cut with precision so we had to adjust the wood pieces until they fit, and nail things into holes that didn’t align. Just expected better quality for the price we paid for the coop.
Perfect for small backyard
Great quality coop and wonderful customer service! I love my coop! Worth every penny.
Heritage 20 Coop
Delivery was quick and fairly painless despite a long narrow driveway. Just loaded the pallets at the road onto my 18 ft trailer. A couple pieces had minor damage, but nothing that couldn't be fixed easily with a screw or some glue. No missing parts. Very satisfied with how protected and secure the pieces were packed. For this being a new product, the instructions were very detailed and accurate. We had trouble following in a couple spots, but it was more from us moving too fast than the instructions not making sense. Biggest complaint is printed instructions included were two sided and the front and back were flipped so had to keep turning the booklet around or go loose leaf. One of the joists was slightly warped and the stapled joints for an A1 side wall panel and 2 of the doors needed extra reinforcing. Overall, strong, beautiful and solid, though. We had some unforeseen circumstances that delayed the build, so it has only been up for a few days. Not counting the pad prep, it took 3 people 12 hours to build from unpacking, staging pieces (highly recommend), leveling, construction, to final clean up. Everyone that sees it is blown away by the size, attention to detail, and quality. One person even suggested I should rent it out on AirBnB.
Absolutely the best
Absolutely the best! My coop was delivered earlier than expected and went together very easily. The chickens are very happy in their new home. Thank you root & root!
Outstanding Quality!
This is such a beautiful and thoughtful coop and we know we will have it for many, many years. The packaging, tools and instructions were so well organized and helpful to make assembly a breeze. We (and the chickens) are thoroughly enjoying it in our backyard. What a quality product!

From order to delivery
From order to delivery. First class all the way. While on the higher end of my budget, I believe you get what you pay for. The coop showed up on time, BIG boxes and detailed instructions. You will need a second hand to put it together, but I am happy, the birds are happy, and most importantly, the wife is happy! 😀
So Disappointed
Our coop came with huge gaps in several places. We contacted them and sent pictures. They admitted it was their error and said the would custom build a piece that we could use to fix the gaps. They sent us what was basically a large picture frame and there is no way to fit it on to cover even half of the large gaps. So much for buying a coop that we thought would be ready to go once assembled! Edit: The people at Roost & Root did reach out, which I appreciated. I do want to add, though, that there is a piece to hold up the waterer that in the pictures online is made of wood, but the one we received is made of plastic. It folded within a week or so and no longer holds up the waterer. We've tried to put it back and it will not stay in place.
