I am paying $2K plus for very poor (actually none) service. When I signed up, I was promised a suite of services for that price and no one out of "my team" responds to my messages. Appointments they set up with me for tax planning were cancelled by the advisor with no explanation and no rescheduling with me. The people who have communicated with me are a chat center in the Phillipines and they know nothing. I came to these guys because I am new to managing an S-Corp and I had poor response from individual CPA's. Maybe I didn't call around enough. PLEASE do some calling around and go to a CPA which is MUCH cheaper!! At least I can deduct this cost from my taxes!!!!

Summary of Issues Lack of Responsiveness: They repeatedly failed to respond to my emails, voicemails, and portal messages despite my numerous follow-ups. Misplaced Priorities: Instead of addressing my unresolved issues, they focused on upselling additional services like mortgage lending partnerships. Missed Deliverables: My tax advisors missed scheduled meetings and failed to provide the promised documents or actionable guidance. Excessive Workload: I spent over 80 hours manually logging information into their portal because their software was clunky and limited, making the service far less valuable than advertised. Refund Issues: I was issued a partial refund of $2,500, but given the extent of the poor experience and wasted time, I believe I should have been fully refunded. Timeline of Events with Examples February 9, 2024 My advisor missed a scheduled follow-up call. I emailed to reschedule and also raised concerns about their bookkeeping software, which limited the number of linked accounts for my businesses. February 15, 2024 The advisor failed to deliver promised information about the tax implications of selling my rental property, even after prior assurances. I followed up for the fourth time to address this urgent issue. February 16, 2024 I expressed frustration over needing to explain my situation to multiple team members, which wasted my time. Despite paying $5,000 for their services, I was doing far more work than I should have for a premium-priced service. February 28, 2024 I learned that my tax advisor had left the company, which contributed to ongoing delays. I requested a new advisor and emphasized the need for better communication moving forward. March 6, 2024 Another scheduled meeting was missed by my advisor. At this point, I decided to cancel the service, calling it "one of the worst customer service experiences" I've ever had. April 6, 2024 I received a marketing email promoting mortgage lending services while I was still struggling with unresolved issues. I replied, expressing disappointment that they prioritized selling over fixing the problems I had been dealing with for months. April 15, 2024 My final communication confirmed I had left 1-800 Accountant due to the poor experience. While I acknowledged that the staff was "nice," I made it clear that the overall service was not worth the premium price. My Time and Effort I spent 80+ hours manually entering data into their portal due to limitations in their software and lack of proactive help. I wasted significant time on follow-ups, reexplaining my situation, and dealing with missed meetings. This took away from my ability to focus on my businesses and ventures. Refund and Final Thoughts I received a partial refund of $2,500, but I firmly believe I should have been fully refunded given the amount of time, effort, and frustration I endured. For a service advertised as “end-to-end tax support,” the lack of value was unacceptable. I paid a premium price and got a subpar experience. Conclusion This experience serves as a cautionary tale about paying premium prices for services that overpromise and underdeliver. From poor communication to missed deadlines and excessive demands on my time, 1-800 Accountant failed to meet even basic expectations. I canceled my subscription and would not recommend this service to anyone.
