Max P. was very kind, professional and helpful when I called to make a payment. He was so patient that he waited to make sure I could get logged in and my transaction was completed because I was having trouble with the App. Thank you for people like Max that still value Customer care!

This company is thieves

This company is thieves, I rented a house with them, the rooms had carpets and the bad dog smell was unbearable, I spent 1 month sleeping in the living room with 3 children until they changed it, I only lived in the house for 6 months, I never put up a picture or curtains, when we moved the grass looked like trees because they were so tall, everything was dirty, dog hair everywhere, and I decided to break the contract after 6 months and pay 2 months for breaking the contract before the year was up, and now they haven't given me back my deposit due to painting, cutting the grass, cleaning when I rented it it looked like an abandoned house, they are thieves, I do not recommend them to anyone, FIRSTKEY THIEVES, THIEVES.

No Heat, No AC, Rat Infestation, "Home Rented As-Is"

SEE PICTURES. RAT INFESTED HOMES. THOROUGHLY INSPECT EVERY CREVICE AND CRAWLSPACE BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING. I'm a renter with Firstkey Homes in Dekalb County, GA. 30058. I applied for, and was accepted for one home but was told it is currently being made ready, and I would be able to tour in one month. The day before, at 5:56 PM, I get a voicemail saying the home isn't ready nor will it ever be. I was put into the position of be homeless, or go with another Firstkey home. The only other available home was move-in ready, and we went with it. I was meant to move-in 02-14-24, but the home had no heat and a rat infestation. The heat was resolved the evening of 02-29-24 and the rat infestation wasn't resolved until 12-06-24. This home also had a dead AC and the technician sent to fix it told me that because it was cooling by 2 degrees that it was functional and Firstkey wouldn't make any repairs to a functioning AC. I have spent my entire residency here fronting rent and utilities for a home I couldn't live in, to then spend at least 3 months to receive a credit just for something else to break, and the process starts over again. Their entire customer support staff is overseas contractors. Don't bother calling the support number, they'll just make an online ticket you can make. Any non-manager you speak with, who is actually employed by Firstkey Homes, will speak to you as if you have a lot of nerve being alive. The managers I have worked with do seem to genuinely care, but when you're a cog in a multi-billion dollar corporation, you either make the company profit at the expense of residents or get fired. I've made my situation known to the BBB and I have tried everything in my power not to make my personal issues public, but I'm at my limit. If this is how they treat disabled veterans, God knows this is how they treat everyone. Edit: Thank you for this misleading reply Scott on all of my reviews. Let's get more in-depth on how exactly you believe my situation has been handled quickly and efficiently. I was meant to move-in on 02-14-24 but couldn't until 03-01-24 because the home had no heat. It then took over 4 months to receive a credit for the rent and utilities that I was forced to pay for a home that was UNLIVABLE. This home also had no AC upon my moving in and the technician sent to fix it told me "An air conditioner cooling by only 2 degrees is fully functional. A home getting to 98 degrees in the summer is to be expected in Georgia". The AC was another two week fix and at least 3 full months to receive a credit for the excess utilities used as a result of it never working properly. Next, Firstkey was made aware of a rat infestation before I moved in and provided false statements that it was fully and appropriately resolved. It wasn't and wouldn't be until 12-06-24. As of 1-16-2024, I am being denied a credit for excess utilities due to the home have absolutely no insulation from 03-01-24 through and including 12-06-24. I have provided extensive math on an appropriate credit and it has been 7 weeks. Everything I previously stated was completely accurate, but thank you for providing me the opportunity to discuss this with you. I will update my reviews hourly to keep you updated. Edit 2: I requested a credit for the entire duration that the home had no insulation, and was told I would only be credited for months when the utility was at a point where Firstkey thinks it's okay to credit. A complete credit has not been applied to, please remove your statement saying it has. It is false as of 1-16-2025 at 5:34 PM. It is wholly unacceptable that I should be expected to be financially responsible for this issue. A home with no insulation will use more utilities than a home with insulation. It is that simple and I should be credited for this issue that Firstkey was made aware of before my moving in. Edit 3: As of 01-29-2025, the request has been denied.
