Upgrade was a downgrade

We started to use the attendance smart app in 2017 which worked fairly well. Now it hardly ever works. It was upgraded in November of 2019 and has hardly worked since. The changes that were made are absolutely awful. When I pull up a attendance record I cannot see anything on the calendar it is now on a separate sheet. Not an enhancement at all.

We spent hours upon hours setting up this controller to only be completely dissatisfied with the product. We did not use the online attendance calendar to prior to the upgrade so I can not compare. But, this I know: - Email addresses should be an option only, when setting up employees, not often that restaurant dishwasher or cleaning porter would use email to communicate with managers - Email addresses should be re-used when the employee is removed from record: we use our own emails during the testing since it was a requirement to import from excel, the same email can’t be used again in our live data - Employee’s phone number & start day are more important than birthday on work records hope that can be a quick top view on Employee’s profile - Color code reasons could be a good feature, but it won’t show on the calendar, they all look the same color, doesn’t matter it’s illness or vacation - No date range on “add event” – for employees go on two week vacation, we have to “add event” 14 times; we have someone in family leave for a month, looks like we have to “add event” 30 times in order to put this in record - “Search” function on Attendance Controller should allow more options such as “search by department” but not just name - Departments should be set up as a code not an entry for each employee - The month should be downloaded also, not just the year - This “App” is not user friendly on a mobile device as this is not a mobile app. If there is an mobile app this would be greatly useful for our managers and chefs – they don’t have the luxury to always sitting on desk. This is such a poor design, its hard to believe the engineers allowed this to go live.

Before their recent horrific upgrade

Before their recent horrific upgrade, I would've given at least 4 stars. The attendance app used to be wonderful, very user friendly and efficient when doing payroll and daily staff attendance. Now, it is a complete nightmare! I have never seen an upgrade completely destroy something that wasn't broke to begin with! It no longer indicates the employees hire date, which is crucial to know. You now have to click into 3 different screens in order to read the note you left on a particular absence (before you could just scroll over the date and it would automatically come up). You can't see how many PTO days an employee has UNTIL you go into the monthly view. PTO days are now listed as PTO hours. My list goes on and on. The genius who is responsible for this upgrade obviously doesn't use this app. Unless this goes back to the way it was before, I will be finding a different software company.

If I could give zero stars I would. Don't waste your money. Freezes up you can't get a hold of customer service. This app is a joke. We have chosen to go back to paper which is pathetic. HRdirect SHUT YOUR PROGRAM DOWN!!

It takes a long time to open up the…

It takes a long time to open up the vacation recording app. Very slow. Cumbersome, would be nice to be able to post extended times for vacation. I regret not going back to the manual card system which was excellent and easy to use.

Basic but ok when it works.

I don't believe the program was actually written from an HR point of view - the update with colors is useless if you can only view a month at a time - and have to download the calendar to see all of the absences with codes in one place. But the greatest issue is that lately it is a less than 50/50 chance that it will actually load and show you your employees at all! Needs some serious attention. We are actually moving BACK to paper since it has become so unreliable.
