Our move became a logistical nightmare…

Our move became a logistical nightmare as we couldn’t get a removal company on the date everyone else in the chain wanted to move (and had booked their removal companies for) the chain was therefore in jeopardy of falling apart… Armishaws came to the rescue with a plan on emptying our house early and putting our belonging in storage until they could deliver it back to us. They collected our belongings over 3 trips, kept and watered all the large garden potted plants (thanks Steve) and delivered our stuff back to us in 2 large lorries as soon as their schedule allowed. Yes it cost us a lot more, but it allowed us to move and the chain didn’t collapsed. Their staff Ben, Jacob, Mark and Dave were brilliant, hard working, friendly and were respectful of our belongings. Yes it was a stressful time but Armishaws where there when we needed them. A Big THANK YOU to all of them.

If you are moving in the near future

If you are moving in the near future, don't even think of asking this company even for an estimate! First guy very friendly, then put through to a lady who was equally friendly, then put through to presumably the head honcho who was nothing short of rude! Was so upset I said I didn't like his attitude and he said the conversation was ending there and hung up!

Response to Armishaws reply

I have read the reply to my review. I am fully aware that you provide garment boxes for hanging items in and most of my clothes were stored in them, so why was a silk dress and merino wool coat used as packaging material in a box with stationery items in it? Your response refers to “ a number of your clothes”in fact it was only those two items that were cleaned and pressed at your expense!

Rude staff, extra storage costs and damaged fridge

We moved back in August last year (2021). When our gear finally did arrive, way past our exchange & completion date, one container was missing on arrival leading to a further 2 days delay. When it did arrive, the fridge was damaged (several external dents). Some of the central office staff were very rude, and I would describe as 'passive-agressive'. For example, I advised the Group Manager I would be leaving poor reviews, this was the response (directly copied from an email); “If any part of any review you might place is libellous I will pass your file to our legal department with a view to seeking damages”. Not a pleasant way to speak to a customer who has paid thousands of pounds for removals and storage services. This is not a 1-star review because the removals guys doing the physical work, were absolutely fine. The damaged Samsung fridge claim was sorted in the end, but a shame such an expensive item was damaged. Overall I would not recommend, based on central staff poor attitude to customer service, general rudeness and threats of legal action. When using a removals company that is also a storage company, they seem to 'have you by the balls' when it comes to payment, because they are holding your stuff, which makes it difficult to argue with issues on delivery dates. Therefore I would recommend using separate removals and storage firms to anyone who requires both services. I would also like to point out that i actually called Overs of Camberley initially as i believed them to be a good local firm, without realising they are now part of the Armishaws group along with Bell & Son, Harkers, Northovers, R&Y Tyers, Smart Storage and Guardian. These companies are listed on the Armishaws website as being part of the group.

Who would move house in a pandemic !!

Who would move house in a pandemic !! Well we did and surprisingly it went very well, from start to finish … Paul the estimator (who incidentally was moving house at the same time) arrived and worked out a quote using bespoke software on his iPad / laptop.He said we aren’t the cheapest but we think you get what you pay for. The next day we received the quote this included all packing materials required as we opted for self packing our own boxes. We also paid extra to be on a preferential list which in the end did help as everyone seemed to be moving home at the same time. A couple of weeks later all the packaging arrived , Then our completion date was brought forward 2 weeks and after a bit of shuffling by Chris, the transport manager, got our new moving date secured. On the day 2 vehicles arrived, a large Pantechnicon lorry and a smaller lorry that was to go on another move after helping the first to load our belongings. Gareth & his crew, 5 guys in total, who loaded everything by lunchtime. We were called by our estate agent to collect the keys to our new home and the lads went for lunch After we had collected the keys and arrived at our new home the Pantechnicon was only 10 mins behind us and then started immediately putting our effects into whichever room we wanted & after an hour another 3 guys turned up to help them to unload !! Everything went very smoothly and later after we had unpacked everything a few days later we found that there were no breakages or damage …. A Very professional crew & that nothing was too much trouble for …. as such we highly recommend Armishaws they go the extra mile.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service. Ben and Jacob were amazing. Ben in particular is a fantastic ambassador for the company. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Two long days and still smiling. Well recommended.
