Refreshing to find a company who knows their area of expertise, provides great pre-sales advice (about the WD Red SRM fiasco - thanks Paywand), tests and configures the purchase (a Synology NAS) sensibly (with some specifics, as per my request) and then delivers in 48-72 hours. Extra props for using bio-degradable packing material. What more could you want? Would certainly recommend and will definitely use again

Good communication, speedy despatch and great delivery options
Ordered the Nimbustor 4 NAS which was despatched within an hour of placing the order via DPD. The same arrived safe the following afternoon ( DPD are exceptional in their service so not surprised). Live chat support was very handy as I used them to confirm stock availability and some warranty related queries. Not awarding perfect score as there are opportunities to improve and it would be only be helpful if I highlighted them to the team at SPAN.com. 1. The web site UI could do with a simpler, modern and elegant UI which will improve the shopping experience. 2. Packaging was good enough to keep the unit during transit however the use of hundreds of small polystyrene dampening balls is something that can be easily avoided with use of recycled paper or air pockets. Was a pain to clean up after unboxing and a far step from being eco friendly. 3. Potential to expand payment options to Google & Apple Pay. Overall, one of those rare occasions where I opted to go with an independent seller than Amazon and I am glad to report that I was pleased more than expected. I would happily recommend SPAN.com :) Thank you.

First class support - even well after the normal working day is done. Really helpful and knowledgable about the products that they sell. Fast turnaround too. I used them to source a replacement for a number of ageing servers and got sound advice that allowed me to make a sensible decision without either spending way too much, or buying hardware unable to do the job fully. Prices were reasonable too. I will definitely use the Company again. My only gripe is their online ordering system could do with some rework.

Span mishandling a return of a broken item and breaking the law
Purchased an item from Span, which I reported on the same day I received it as faulty as none of the HD LEDs on the device worked. I requested a full refund against this broken device and that is when this has gone from bad to worse. The Span team do not seem aware that they also need to refund the full delivery costs per Consumer Rights Act of 2015. Their staff have not handled this with any respect or care to the customer which is a pity as previously they were okay. So be aware that the moment there is an issue with an item their service is extremely poor. To lose customers in this way is probably not the best way to grow a business. Not very professional. Not good. I would NOT recommend for anyone to use them based on what I have provided here. Disappointed to say the least. UPDATE The Span team got a number of things wrong too requesting a replacement device which I had never asked for as I had requested a full refund. They also incorrectly stated that they can only process my refund once they have processed the item. Per the law that if the retailer has offered to collect the goods, which in this case Span have done, it should refund me within 14 days from the date I informed of wanting a full refund. So, this means I don't have to wait for the retailer to have collected the goods to get my refund. In my case, I requested the full refund on the 27 July 2020, so my full refund needs to be with me by 10 August 2020. Looking at past reviews on this forum, it seems obvious they there is a massive shortfall whenever it comes to requesting a refund. These are easy to find, just search for the other 1 star ratings. Not once have they had the decency of just saying, yes we made a mistake but will look at preventing this in future. Instead it's excuse after excuses. With an aim to close this matter off sooner than later, I am willing to accept a formal apology by email from them and I expect to receive my full refund including delivery costs by 10 August 2020 as the law dictates. I await their response. UPDATE 2: What is also stated in their review response is that they have collected the broken item at their own expect. Well, they are obligated to cover the return postage and it is they that stated they would collect this so they are not doing anything unusual here. Span have also challenged my review as a contravention of the Guidelines of TrustPilot. I have not contravened any of their terms, so it seems that Span are just trying to close this accurate review down as it does not reflect well on them. It is Span that asked me to do this review, so what is this all about? Not very customer focused if they cannot face criticism for when things go wrong. Yet to date they refuse to apologize. ... I'll leave this up to you if you would want to do business with them going forward. UPDATE 3: Span are once again messing around by not fully refunding me after the broken item they sent me was rejected by me within 14 days; and with me requesting a full refund. This contravenes the law (Consumer Rights Act of 2015 (CRA 2015)) and yet they believe they are above the law in the way they are approaching this. I will be reporting this to trading standards too and requesting a charge back for the full amount. Absolutely useless service here from them again, so WARNING to EVERYONE to take heed with dealing with this firm. I did notify them that their documents are not valid as under Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014 and Consumer Rights Act of 2015 some of the Warranty Terms and Conditions they state are not valid. For instance Customers who return items should get a refund for the standard postage costs they paid. I asked them to please ensure that they update the document. This company also alludes that I am trying to it take advantage of a system by return a Broken item back to them and requesting the postage back. It seems to me that they are accusing me of Fraud by this statement. It's an aggressive statement towards me. So again I expect an apology back from them on this statement. Are Span as customer focused as they want to make out on this forum? I think not. UPDATE 4: I have still NOT received any refund at all from Span. This contradicts the law. I have raised this with Trading Standards. So much for Span suggesting they are customer friendly. Heed my words and do not use this company as they cannot be trusted to provide a service that should be expected. UPDATE 5: Span confirm they have used the WRONG account for my refund. They have again made another mistake and confirm that they have refunded to a completely different account from which I made the original purchase. I notified them of this yet they have not resolved 9 days post when they should have provided me the refund. Again they simply state I need to sort out with my bank but I cannot as they have not refunded to my bank. As mentioned they have used a WRONG account.

Synology NAS DS220+
Pre-ordered a Synology NAS DS220+ from Span. Asides from the payment being taken on day 1, Span we're great in notifying me when the product was ready to pre-order and when the item would be with me. In the end it arrived early. Was very well packed and in pristine condition. DPD Delivery was also good - 1 hour delivery window given and the van arrived at the start of that window! Great retailer. Would recommend. (Very pleased with my new NAS, too)
