Think twice

Initially, the shower installation looked nice but within one week we noticed deficiencies. When the new shower was installed, the contractor caused 3 nail pops in the opposite wall that he did not fix and left the nail heads exposed through the cracked drywall. There is a crack in the glass shower panel. The caulking on one of the shelves is very sloppy and looks like a a 2 yr. old did it. The chrome trim on the upper edge was cut at the wrong angle leaving a 1/2 inch gap that water can drip down. I have to tighten the interior door handle 1-2 times per week because it keeps getting loose. We made a warranty claim for these deficiencies over a month ago but get no response other than it is being looked into.

After the order processed the company kept us updated as to the status of the order. They installed the walk-in tub sooner than expected and they did it in ONE day. Every member of the team was professional and courteous.

Misleading claims re. Lifetime labor availability

I own an American standard walk in bath tub since almost 6 years and truth is they sell you lifetime warranty on parts and labor however they do not have the labor to service. It takes months of frustration and numerous calls to even schedule service person who is a no show and when escalated to upper management they never respond as well. Lesson learnt they are misleading while marketing and their schedulers complain about how they are short staffed and no skilled labor is willing to work ...so unprofessional a business that they don't have a solution to this issue since years and put it on customer to hear this each time the tub has a part that needs replacement. This is a repeated reportable issue I will send to BBB. My senior parents are left with no means of using the shower faucet since 3 months now.

Definitely not a value for the cost

First let me say they use very friendly skilled salesman, Dennis, and the Installers are extremely friendly and that is pretty much where the good ends. The salesman uses pressure that claims time sensitive discounts will expire after he leaves. They also will finance the doors but if you make the payment that they set for you after a year the interest on each monthly statement is actually higher than the payment, so you are making no progress on principle and are actually accruing a higher balance each month. A slight positive, they complete the install in one day about though it took more than 10 hours. Again the Installer Cliel, was extremely nice but the workmanship is just average if that. I personally suck at caulking, and they are better than I, but it is not of the quality worthy of the price that was paid for the purchase. I expected better for the cost. A part for the door broke 9 months ago with no resolution to date. After the first installer could not get the part, it was escalated to the service manager who called me and gave me his direct number and made promises. He assigned another installer Brandon who again was very kind and seemed concerned but to date has not been able to get the broken part and now the service manager Allen has apparently ghosted me and again it is still not fixed. They sell doors that are branded American Standard with a lifetime warranty, yet they install unbranded third-party doors with only a five-year warranty which is apparently worthless as we have been trying to get a part for more than 9 months. I also have a problem with the fact that they have not and to date will not provide me any written documentation as to the manufacturer, or the Mfg. warranty, a contact number or a parts diagram to keep the doors functioning past the 5-year warranty expiration. The showerhead broke after 5-6 months and When Brandon came to fix the shower, they had sent the wrong caulk along with the showerhead which he installed I will give Them that, but I could have gotten a showerhead under warranty had I purchased it for much less and installed it myself. The Bottom Line is, it is not worth the cost especially If you finance it. Find a local Installer, buy your own components from a local retailer or wholesaler and if you need to finance the cost see your banker or take out a mortgage equity loan. Yes, It may take longer than one day but you have local businesses that would be much better at addressing any issues than a 1-800 number.

From Unusable to Ta Da!…

We had a bath/shower combo that was literally unusable due to the water spraying out on to the floor no matter what we did SO in comes Jon Williams Jr. with American Standard and gives us the answer to take care of our problem along with 12 month zero interest financing, which we took advantage of. We decided on a low threshold entrance stand alone shower (no tub) and haven't looked back. The demo and install took 2 days and we were so pleased with the entire process. Would definitely recommend American Standard to anyone thinking of redoing a bathroom.
