Good reliable cars with pronpt pick up

I am happy to report that I was very happy with both the car and the service that Omega provided. I wasn’t thinking that 2 and a half weeks was last minute for renting a car - but considering that it is your summer and high tourist season - it was comparatively very expensive to the car I rented on the North Island 2 weeks later. But that was my error, it was one of the last cars available from any company.

The car was fine, all was as described. We just think all the staff were not the most welcoming and only repeated the same phrases they memorized when we had questions. But it turned up to be fine, since we had no issues with the car.

Car was an old model, drove ok but struggled on steep hills, didn’t change gears smoothly. The radio didn’t work properly, Bluetooth and USB would not connect, so couldn’t have any entertainment/music during our entire 2 week trip. No SatNav and nowhere to attach or store a phone with display visible to use Google maps. No parcel shelf in boot so bags were always visible when parked up. Pickup is a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal at Picton, we could have arranged to be collected though. Staff at the pick-up were friendly and efficient. Cheaper than other quotes for a reason but was perfectly functional.

Omega car rentals were great to deal with. The cars were in great condition and are exactly what we ordered.

The car was just fine...No problems on a long NZ trip. What really appreciated was how helpful and courteous and "no questions asked" they were when our ferry from Picton to Wellington was cancelled, and no possibility to rebook for 8 days. They let us leave the car in Nelson and refunded the rest of our trip. Excellent customer service and much appreciated.

We made a mistake with our booking and needed an extension by 1 day of our rental. The staff went above and beyond and kindly arranged for this to be possible.

I needed a car rental at the last minute. Googled Omega, booked online and secured the dates needed. Everything was automated and online. Will definitely use them again
