The sound strength when on a normal setting was standard. When the sound level was increased the quality fell off with background noise cancelling out any gain in ease of hearing. It is irritating to have the numbers dialled to be spoken back to you. I did not see any information prior to buying this phone about this system.

The phone came within 2 days easier to set up

Unfortunately the telephone was not suitable for my 98 year old mother in law. As well as being deaf she has macular degeneration and because you had to manually increase the volume each time you picked up the phone she was unable to see the arrows to do this. She also struggled with seeing the saved numbers buttons again due to her sight issues. However when I called I can honestly say how helpful everyone was that I spoke to on the phone.

Researched what was available and this telephone had what was needed for my mother who needs something simple and easy to use. Memory buttons to press so that she can dial me or my brother just by pressing one button, no need to press any buttons to answer using auto answer and the ability to turn up the handset volume if she cannot hear the caller well. These were exactly the facilities I was looking for and all in one phone. She is very happy with this.
