It's an expensive service, calling out emergency plumbers, but MJ Harris were quick to respond and had someone here within an hour of me contacting them. Matt the plumber was helpful and managed to cap off the shower, who's control flow had failed. He also sorted out several other issues with pipe connectors which had popped loose when the water pressure dropped. You don't want to mess about with water issues at home, and MJ Harris proved reliable for sorting the immediate issues.

A complete waste of time and money
I recently had a boiler service. The boiler is less than two years old and has been working perfectly, then shortly after the service by your firm it broke down. I was surprised at the time of service your engineer did not test the boiler by running it afterwards as is normally done. I did question this with him. But he claimed it was fine. I noted In fact usually the job takes more than 30 minutes as the unit is normally cleaned and tested with equipment to measure its functions. I have subsequently had it checked by British Gas who found a valve blocked due to a build up. The amount of build up would not have accumulated in the short time between your company’s ‘service’ and the British Gas inspection. I am highly doubtful your engineer did a proper service at all and aside from the safety aspect your failing to provide the service I paid for has caused me additional costs to have the boiler properly serviced. My advice to anyone is to avoid using MJ Harris who in any case are way more expensive than British Gas. Don’t waste your time and money. Update: I have no confidence of any satisfactory outcome to my complaint and In response to the offer to “look into it” the only acceptable resolution would be a refund of my money which I am quite sure they have no intention of doing. I would not let MJ Harris anywhere near my boiler again. Update: I stand by my previous complaint regarding the billing and bullying manner I was subjected to by your staff when payment was extorted from me over the phone. I also stand by the fact that the boiler service was evidently inadequately conducted. The fact that there was a dirty value found by British Gas upon their service attests to that. Your attempt to portray my complaints inaccurately is unacceptable but typical of the unprofessional experience I have encountered from your firm. In November you denied having any record of my calls when I reported my discomfort at the bullying demands your staff made to obtain my banking details from me, yet you NOW claim you “sent the calls to me”while you previously denied any exist. Laughable! Your attempts to deflect your actions by making things up is proof enough of the dubious nature of your entire outfit. The sole purpose in my raising my experience with your company on this site is aimed at warning others of the way you operate. Not that you have offered any resolution of course, but kindly be informed I do not wish anything further from you with regard to my boiler. I would not permit anyone from your company to go anywhere near it even if you paid me. And kindly cease and desist your tirade which is verging on harassment. No surprise. This is all a genuine customer can expect.

Unfortunately I can't give a zero
Unfortunately I can't give a zero. My partner who is a vulnerable pensioner and lives on her own has a blocked toilet which she cannot use. Early Monday she phoned M J Harris and was told a plumber would be there later in the day. She stayed in all day waiting until, mid afternoon received a phone call that the plumber couldn't make it. She was told the plumber would come the following day. Again the same thing happened. This time the lady who called ensured her a plumber would definitely come the following day, Wednesday. Again the same thing happened with a promise the plumber would definitely arrive Thursday. Guess what, again a phone call informing her no.plumber!!! THIS IS ALL AFTER PAYING £42 FOR AN APPOINTMENT. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!!
