MJ Harris quoted me £1,750 A DAY!

MJ Harris quoted me £1,750 labour A DAY!! for carrying out first and second fix (i.e. some new pipework and connecting up a bath, shower, toilet and basin) in a small bathroom. Materials were extra. They estimated the job would take two to three days. An absolute joke. They gained my £42 call-out fee, but the company will never receive another penny of my money.

Fine

Contacted company and they said someone would be round on the day then got another call saying it will not be until the next day . Had to pay a call out charge which was ok , anyway they came out and repaired the leak

Oh my goodness..im still reeliing from…

Oh my goodness..im still reeliing from the shock of the quote! I payed £42 for call out which was absolutely fine. Booked in for same day but I phoned during the afternoon to check what time engineer was due to arrive, to be told sorry..engineer has called in sick. Eventually I had to wait a week until the following Monday. Engineer turned up, stayed all of 5 minutes. Diagnosed pump failure of a saniflow toilet system and quoted my £1200 to supply new and fit. Saniflows cost £450 so that means to fit they are charging me £750!! Sorry..I do realise that anything to do with Saniflow systems carry a premium..but that is over the top ridiculous. Needless to say, I have found a GENUINE local plumber to come and REPAIR the unit ( switch, not pump had broken) for 160 quid.

Took a star off …

Took a star off as the call out was delayed 28.5 hours, as on my first phone call I was promised an appointment to unblock my sewer and toilet that day. This was cancelled an hour later “due to staff sickness”. Had to phone twice the next day to find out when the person would arrive. Thankfully the man who arrived was brilliant and solved 95% of the problem

Called the company and was told the…

Called the company and was told the plumber could come round the same day for job. However, in the afternoon company called saying the plumber had been delayed and could job be moved to next day morning. I agreed. In the morning Harry the plumber called, visited the premises, gave me a quote, then went to get the parts, came back and did the job. Harry was efficient and did a great job.
