Very expensive. Quote of £235 for changing a £25 valve on a toilet. Labour charge of £210 seems steep!

The plumber that undertook the work was very helpful and professional, phoning before arrival to agree a time. Then, he explained the issue, the cost and fitted the new tap to fix the problem. He left everything clean and tidy. I would thoroughly recommend M.J. Harris Domestic Repairs.

Unbelievable charges for an extremely poor service

On 12/02/25 I called this company reporting a leak from the pipework connecting to my hot water cylinder. I paid the £42 call-out fee having been told someone would call the same day. No one came until 18/02/25, after repeated calls from me and being told someone would be coming in the afternoon, tomorrow etc etc. The engineer who came took 10 minutes to assess the problem, but said he would have to order some parts and would be back the following day to complete the work: he did not come! More telephone calls from me and being lied to by the operator. Eventually another engineer, who did not seem to know what to do and had to call the first engineer, came on the 20/02/25 and completed the work in 45 minutes. So my job reported on 12th was not completed until 20th! The cost £204.99, being charged an outrageous £210 an hour for labour and having to pay for a complete hour despite the work taking 45 minutes. Be warned about this so-called "family run business", about which I was unable to find any information.

The job was done quickly and successfully. It was however very expensive (£241.50) for 30 minutes at the property. I think this company is based over 100 miles away from where I live(which I did not know at the time)

20% 0-star reviews suggests 'Buyer Beware'

My experience with this (local?) company is a complete repeat of so many reviewers on here. A-Class FAIL. Book - Pay Fee - Wait (all afternoon at home) - Apologetic Phone Call - Re-Book - Wait (all afternoon at home - again) - Apologetic Phone Call - ......... ......At this stage I sussed that this wasn't going to work for me, so asked for refund of the Call-Out Fee and for them to cancel the apologetic phone calls. Guess what? I'm waiting for the refund of the Call-Out Fee ☹️. Hopefully tomorrow. Afternote: Fee repaid quickly - thank-you.

Appalling company

Came out to unblock a drain, charged over £240 took 10 minutes, drain not unblocked, phoned back stated would be out that day, phoned to say they then couldn’t come out and couldn’t make any promises when they could would just try, agent spoke over me constantly trying to get me off the phone, appalling job and customer service

1 star as I can’t give any less…

1 star as I can’t give any less received a call to rebook my appointment on 2 consecutive days as they couldn’t make it. Now no updates, can’t get through on the phone and closed for the weekend!! Absolutely useless. Quick enough to take the call out fee over the phone tho!!!
