Not a fan of the M J Harris business model. If you search online for a local engineer, their website comes up, representing itself as a local business (in our case 'Wells and the surrounding area'. It's really not. You end up speaking to a call centre, and it is only after questioning that you realise this is not a local business, but actually based in S Wales. Then they take £42 by phone just for the call, and of course I could have declined and stopped just there. Maybe I should have done, but I was very pressed for time. The engineer was indeed fairly local, and timely and polite, but the pricing was very steep for the work done, and was presented as a nice round figure without any explanation of labour charge, call-out charge or parts. Overall, won't be calling M J Harris again.

Immersion fixed within hours

Turned up before time and engineer was very pleasant and fully explained the process before he started. Job was completed in 30 minutes and everything was left in good order. Excellent service and will definitely use again.

I booked a heating engineer to attend last Friday 11th Oct and waited all day and no show, finally contacted the office to be told they had run over time and wouldn’t be coming but no call to tell me so absolutely no customer service and a complete waste of my time. Re-arranged for today and again waited all day and again no show with no call to tell me they would be coming. They are very quick to take a deposit which I know they will block refunding so utterly unreliable and WOULDN’T RECOMMEND as it feels more like a scam to hook you into a service they aren’t planning to deliver

Requested non urgent repair to a dripping kitchen tap Paid £40 call out fee then was charged £250+ for fitting a new tap!! Less than an hour's work!! Nice work if you can get it! Suggest people look elsewhere for non exploitative traders!

Nathan, was really nice and very helpful. He was polite and kind. He explained everything and found a solution. A very good service.

We managed to get a call out very quickly, although our problem with shower was not urgent. The problem was fixed quickly and efficiently by Theo. There were just a few hick ups with appointments but fortunately we were able to be flexible with timings
