So quick and efficient. Obviously knew what they were doing. Very experienced! Also kept us informed all the time about what they were doing and why. Altogether top job.

The engineer seemed efficient but when we wanted a bath in the evening the temperature of the water was just tepid. My husband tried to rectify it which ended up with the boiler not working at all! During the night, as he was worried and unable to sleep and having ‘googled’ instructions, he managed to get it back to normal.

Absolute criminal rip off company. Just got a pathetic stock unethical dodging responsibility response (see below from MY Harris). The bottom line is: this company is a con. They know well that they are rip off artists. No one can charge £210 per hour for the most simple of plumbing repairs. Esp when the repair itself took less than 30 minutes, and the plumber (if professional) would have had a stop valve in his van and not have to go shopping for 30 minutes to buy one for the job. This company and its employees are unprofessional unethical rogue traders. AVOID THEM and if you make the mistake that I did, report them. They should be held to account for their criminal style swindling. I hope they face the consequences of their actions, and soon. Overview of my horrible experience: I called to book the visit a few days ago, and was charged a fee upfront of £42 which I thought would be applied to the bill in the end (and apparently they say they deduct from the final bill, but did not until I complained). Note: this was not an emergency repair booking. Not at all. The plumber arrived, and before he looked at the job he stated to me that they charge £210 per hour. I was not shown a paper contract to sign and agree. It was all verbal, and shocking on the spot. Real pros and cornering you while you are worried about a plumbing issue. So - of course due to my need to have the pipe fixed I felt I had to accept any price -AND THIS WAS HIGHWAY ROBBERY AT ITS FINEST, but was not told on my original phone booking call AT ALL that they charge £210 per hour. And this is where they start the swindle. This is a key issue, and I think make MJ Harris unethical. No one would proceed with booking if they knew this crazy company charges £210 per hour for plumbing repairs, especially rather straight forward simple to solve plumbing repairs. No one. I then asked him how long it would take and he said he did not know yet. He then said he needed to go get the piece from a supplier, after max 10m minutes after his arrival and a very quick less than 5 minute look at the pipes. He left to get the part, it took him 20 minutes to do this. I am surprised that he did not have these basic parts for pipe repair work in his big MJ Harris plumber's van. He returned and repaired the pipe in less than 30 minutes, probably 25 minutes. My bill was then calculated, as £210 for 1 hour of work, and £19.99 for the parts. So the written bill I signed was for £229.99. I did say the charge was exorbitant, and frankly outrageously expensive. I said I have never heard of a plumber service charging £210 per hour. And mind you when I called to book the repair I was charged a fee of £42 upon booking - just for booking!!!!! So the total bill was £271.99 for a simple basic pipe repair valve. I also just read that they deduct the £42 from the bill, but MJ Harris DID NOT DO THIS FOR MY BILL . Instead they lied to me and said they would drop the £42 charge from my bill and refund it. So in fact I paid the full bill of £229.99, as they never deducted the £42 that they told another customer they would deduct from the bill. THIS IS THE MOST CROOKED UNETHICAL BUSINESS EVER. I hope they get their cummupance..... When I justifiably complained that this bill was unethically expensive, I was emailed back and Jessica said they would discount the £42 booking fee!!!! God god, the least they could do. But even after this discount, the charges for this simple repair is in my mind a criminal type of business charge as it is way over the top and way over all other plumbers who I have consulted. At least double what all other plumbers I have asked have said they would charge. In the 26 years I have had plumbers repairs done, this is absolutely high way robbery!!! I think they prey on elderly clients who are left helpless and unfairly over-charged. I cannot be the only one who believes and knows MJ Harris is grossly over charging vulnerable and desperate clients who do not know what they are getting involved in when they book a repair appointment. I simply cannot be the only one! I did promptly today pay this unfair and unethically expensive bill for a simple plumbing repair, but I will also contact the Ombudsman and take this complaint to the maximum I can. On social media and review websites for the plumbing trade and I will reach out to try an find others who have experienced a similar fleecing experience. I think MJ Harris should be held to account for their unethical business, and I hope they face consequences for their terrible business practices in the very near future. They also lead you to believe that they are local to your town, but they are not a local business at all. Their website pages are misleading I find in this advertising aspect. I thought I was contacting a local trusted business but have found that they are not at all based in Stroud or this area. So be very wary to use this business.

The work was carried out in a very professional manner, and an explanation was given to why the work was necessary.

The repairs were carried out promptly and quickly and the engineer was very polite but information during initial call was misleading- I was told that I would need to pay a deposit to secure the booking which turned out to be a call out charge on top of cost which made this very expensive for a straight forward job.

Had a look at the shower tap, unable to fix problem die to age of tap. Gave an estimate for replacement and no pressure to make a decision immediately

Excellent service and resolved multiple issues as a result. Will use you again for sure!

The repair man came on time. He was respectful of our property. He got on with our animals 2 dogs ,3 cats . He went above and beyond what we expected of him .

They are very very very expensive. Unfortunately, it was the third electrician I had tried and my tenant needed a new shower so I couldn't shop around. I thought the high price might mean I got a top-of-the range shower fitted but turns out they put in the cheapest one you can get from Screwfix or B&Q down the road. I did call to discuss this and give them a chance to be reasonable with their charges, but they weren't interested.
