I had the laser eyesight correction 16 months ago. Mr Maurino had explained the entire procedure before the operation and everything has gone according to plan. He had taken me through the key risks that the operation could introduce and how to take care of my eyes in the weeks following the procedure. He also took into account my age (46 at the time) and advised me to opt for the micro-mono-vision procedure, which I did and am happy with my decision. I do feel a bit uncomfortable in the evenings at low light due to the intentional myopia on one eye but the benefits by far outweigh the slight discomfort.

Having this type of procedure requires a lot of research, after which you narrow it down to a handful of professionals based on reviews and the experience you feel the consultant has. In my case, I headed straight to what I believe was among the top choices by choosing Moorfield as it is naturally already classed as one of the best. Even then, the selections of professionals is huge and I went with Mr Maurino based on what I read and I have absolutely no regrets. Right from the first call to his team (Ana) the approach was professional, caring and focussed. after the initial consultation there were a few options available for me (each case is different) and I was given professional opinion but personal choice so I could feel comfortable. I went for the procedure that allowed me to "try what the end result would feel like" and after the three days trial I had made my decision. The procedure was scheduled within a week and on the day of the procedure I was made to feel very comfortable and was in and out within two hours. The follow up was great and although we had to postpone the second follow up (due to COVID-19 shutdown) it was promptly rescheduled as soon as the practice reopened. Mr Maurino corrected my cataract impaired vision with an IOL in January 2020. Having already had my other eye done 12 months previously, I was aware of the procedure. However Mr Maurino explained the whole procedure methodically, and he and his excellent team delivered everything as stated. We discussed and I opted for a mid distance focal point for my new IOL, given that my other eye is fixed at the far distance, as I still do many hours per day of screen work, hence this option negated the need for glasses for most daily tasks. Everything went very smoothly for me, the plan, the operation itself took less than 15 minutes, and the post op care, and follow up. Not only do I again have binocular vision, but also my confidence has returned now I can see clearly again.

My eyes were both -13.00D. After the first consultation, Dr. Maurino recommended ICL surgery. Dr. Maurino was very professional and I didn't feel any pain or discomfort during the surgery. I have 20/20 vision with the naked eye right now, and I'd like to say a big thank to Dr.Maurino for his expertise.
