A good informative initial consultation. All options were discussed and my queries were fully answered. I had no reservations or worries in selected the treatment. Because of Covid, I had both eyes operated on at the same time. I was kept fully informed of what was happening at each stage and the whole process went vey smoothly. The post-operation check-up showed excellent results.

All went very well and Mr. Maurino and all the other staff that I saw were very nice and kind. The results of my surgery seem to be excellent.

Mr Maurino was calm, professional and reassuring in providing an easy to understand explanation of the causes of my eyesight problems and the alternative options available for him to help improve my eyesight. I was confident enough to have replacement lens surgery to both eyes on the same day and my eyesight has dramatically improved. Before the operation, I need glasses to see further than a few metres and even then my vision was cloudy. I now have 20-20 vision in both eyes without needing to wear glasses.

Thoroughly professional attitude throughout. Mr Maurino explained the procedure and hoped for outcome during the original consultation. He also explained that because of my underlying eye condition, I should not expect miracles. Actually the result of the procedure was far better than both he and I expected. I can now drive, legally, without any spectacles. The actual procedure was quite bearable and all staff were reassuring during the operation.

I had an excellent experience with Mr Maurino. I chose the mini mono vision option after my cataracts were removed, at his recommendation. As a result I now very rarely wear glasses, and only for close work. He inspires great confidence as he is such a deft and experienced surgeon. I would recommend him very highly to anyone.

I can honestly say that Mr Maurino and his team are undoubtedly superb.Having only one working eye and with my ophthalmic history of sympathetic ophthalmitis as a child cataract surgery for me was far from a routine decision. I would like to share my experience of my eye surgery performed by Dr. Vincenzo Maurino at the Private Moorfields Hospital. Having been short-sighted most of my life, I know first-hand how disabling a poor vision could be. I consider it as a stroke of luck that I was directed to the professional care of Mr. Maurino. Very attentive to my concerns and my initial worries, Mr. Maurino reassured me by an extensive and detailed examination of my eyes. Before the surgery I was informed about all the stages of the procedure and post-operative care. I was also provided with all the necessary medication and easy-to-follow instructions. Despite being very worried on the day of the surgery, to my amazement, the surgery itself was quick, easy and pain-free. I was allowed to go home soon afterwards. The following days I experienced discomfort and even pain which lasted a few hours. Gradually, my vision was improving with a noticeable speed. Due to a very complicated condition of my eyes, it took a couple of months for the side effects, such as hazy and misty vision, to subside. As I am writing this, I can say with confidence that I can see very clearly and distinctly. On the downside, I am still having a mild “dry eyes” condition which can be easily maintained with eye drops. But the need for the eye drops is decreasing with the passage of time. I also noticed my eyes might feel sensitive to the bright daylight, so I always carry a pair of sunglasses with me. It should be noted, on a bright day my vision is incredibly sharp whereas at night it is weaker. My overall experience was positive and I am pleased with the result. In retrospect, the only thing I regret is that I haven’t had my eyes operated at an earlier stage of my life. Vision is precious, and my improved eyesight has given me spectacles independence, boosted my confidence and overall transformed my life.

My first consultation with Maurino was on the 20th March regarding my cataracts. The experience was very personalised, very informative , very clear and left me in no doubt that I wanted to have my cataract surgery done - by Mr Maurino. Between my initial consultation and my eventual surgery on the 11th July (with the Covid situation prevailing in between) the personal attention I received from Mr Maurino - and members of his staff, Sue and Ana - was nothing less than excellent. The surgery itself was just as Mr Maurino explained - I had both cataracts done on the same day and the event itself was over so quickly. I particularly enjoyed Mr Maurino speaking to me off and on during the event - very calming - then once finished, taking me to the recovery area. After a short while I was able to go home. My post operative appointment followed and confirmed a great result - with Mr Maurino discharging me. In summary - an excellent patient experience.
