I would give more than 5 stars to Mr Maurino and his team. My experience far exceeded expectations and my eyesight is now excellent. Mr Maurino was kind, professional and welcomed any questions I had. I had both eyes operated on, for cataracts, a week apart , which I definitely recommend as any inequity between the patient's eyes, while waiting for the second, is kept to a minimum. The operations were calm and painless and I felt very well cared for by Mr Maurino and his team. I would recommend Mr Maurino without hesitation. A big thank you to him and Moorfields.

Mr Maurino and his team gave me excellent service. From the initial consultation to the final check up over a year later. This was an extra check up, included in the cost that is not usually required but Mr Maurino requested for my own benefit. The optometrists always remembered me by name and gave me lots of advice. During the surgery I felt really comfortable. DMr Maurino answered all my questions and his colleagues made me smile and laugh to help me relax as I was very nervous. I would definitely recommend the service, I am really happy with the result.

I decided to get ICL surgery (contact lenses implanted in the front of my eyes) to correct a -20 myopic prescription in both eyes. I was increasingly struggling to tolerate contact lenses, due to having dry eyes, and my glasses were unbearably ugly and thick (as well as giving highly minimised vision and barely any peripheral vision). I couldn't get this operation where i live (Edinburgh) so on the recommendation of a local consultant, headed to Mr Maurinho at Moorfields. The service and care has been first rate. I'm delighted with the outcome - I now have myopia of around -1 in both eyes, and (as i don't drive) am currently enjoying life with no contact lenses or glasses. It's been life changing - the freedom to wake up and function, be confident, have 'normal vision' is just amazing. I still suffer with dry eyes, but that's entirely manageable with drops. The care and service received from Mr Maurinho's/the Moorfields team was great. The surgery itself is obviously a source of anxiety in the run up, but the anticipation was far worse than the reality. No pain, some temporary discomfort, but entirely manageable. This was certainly an investment, but i have no regrets and am in awe of the surgical skills involved. Isn't science marvelous?

Initially the enquiry process was a little confusing but this was down to the nhs website. Once in touch with the actual practise the whole process was smooth and straight forward. Dr. Maurino and his team were transparent with costs and expectations. The actual procedure was again straight forward and pain free. I can only recommend him and his team a truly wonderful experience. The best part....No more glasses or lenses! It's a life changer.

I absolutely100% recommend Mr Maurino and his team. I had been extremely short sighted from very young childhood. To have amazing vision now is an unbelievable result.
