I've bee short sighted all my life and worn glasses since 8!.. suffering in silence age creeps up and varifocals become order of the day...the thought of any surgery to improve my plight was a daunting decision. Having visited the high street chains I was unimpressed by the pressured conveyor belt and cursory regard to my precious albeit useless sight. Research led me to Vincenzo who reassured from the start and took time to explain every possible option and the pros and cons of each. One option was to nothing and i felt no pressure but was assured of the capability and ability to fix my complicated prescription. As time passes I am adapting to the gift of proper sight that has eluded me for 50 years I could drive the next day, purchase decent ray bans and although at first I resorted to cheap ready readers from boots my vari focal eyes have settled down, my brain has adapted and I have no assistance needed to function on a daily basis. Would I recommend surgery - absolutely and I already have on many occasions and unequivocally Mr Maurino and his wonderful team of miracle workers at Moorfields.... Thank you for my sight !

Excellent service. I did lots of research prior to going to Mr Maurino and expected to have lenses but ended up having laser treatment following his advice. During my treatment I required a couple of extra appointments which was no problem at all. The whole experience has been a pleasure and the glasses have gone!

The outpatient clinic administrative staff were warm and friendly.The professional team of the optometrist and the consultant ophthalmologist were excellent in the diagnosis and handling of my case.In the hospital ward pre-operation procedures, the surgical team consisting of the ward nurse,the anaesthetist, and the ophthalmologist were quite friendly as the proposed operation procedure was clearly explained to me.My operation procedure was short,smooth, and painless.Post eye operative condition on both occasions were uneventful.At the post-operation follow-up assessment visits,I had recovered well and regained fully my vision in both eyes.The procedure and the associated success of both eye operations are recommended for those in the near future needing eye cataract operation.

In July this year I had Refractive Lens Exchange Surgery undertaken at Moorfields by Mr Maurino to rectify very significant short-sightedness in both eyes. The resulting improvement in eyesight has been quite remarkable, as I now enjoy a quality of vision beyond that which I can recall at any time. I began to wear glasses aged 8 and am now 62. I can now see detail at distance better than I ever could with my glasses and can read print readily when held close, unless it is excessively small or the light is poor, when I use standard X1.5 glasses. I found the information provided by Mr Maurino on the the procedure, both before, during and afterwards, to be clear and helpful. The procedure was brief (20-25 minutes per eye) and an interesting experience in itself, with no discomfort whatsoever, either during the process or in the following hours or days. Furthermore, I found Mr Maurino and his staff to be extremely professional and considerate in the manner in which they dealt with me, from the initial consultation to the post operative appointment.
