Doesn’t work on my fine hair
Doesn’t work on my fine hair. Slides out by mid morning. Very expensive to have to throw away. If you have fine hair use a bobble or one of those type.
2nd set and it still doesn’t work.
This is my second set I purchased. The first time I ordered they were just coming out. My hair is extremely thick and it just didn’t work. Plus pulling my hair through was so hard bc of my length and thickness. I ordered again because now they have an XL for thick hair. Still sucks. Still doesn’t hold hair at all. Falls down after about 10 or less minutes. And they only have blonde or grey avail so it really sucks. I personally don’t think it’s worth the money and doesn’t work at all. I must have crazy thick hair or something. But people with thinner hair or less hair I’m sure I works fine.
Broke Quickly, Disappointing
I had my pony-o for about 50 days before it broke. I heard a crunching sound and the metal inside now pokes out through the plastic. The product is useless now. I contacted the company and they only offer a free replacement within 30 days. Sorry, but I'm not paying shipping for something that broke in less than 2 months. It didnt stay in place very well to begin with, but I did feel like my hair was breaking less than with regular hair bands. Very prompt response to my email, but a reputable company would replace for free in such a short amount of time. Disappointing.
Don't waste your money
I was excited to receive my items after a long COVID related wait. However it just wasn't great. I have long, thick, heavy hair and it just didn't do much. I actually found my regular hairbands to hold better. I decided to try again and the wire snapped. Frankly, it's a better fidget than hairband. The bun bar is okay but the gap in the back allows hair to slide through. Luckily, I didn't blow too much cash on these.
I had a good experience with Pony-O!
I had a good experience with Pony-O. I actually love their hair holder and I wanna try the BunBarz next. Shipping was a little weird but I ordered during the height of the shutdown and still received my stuff. I think maybe there is some misunderstanding about how the products function and ship. I use my Pony-O for work, as I am a nail tech and need my hair out of my face. My regular elastic was snapping my baby hairs and regular hairs so I switched over and it’s been the jam.
Does not stay in place and is now broken
I liked the idea of the Pony-o and every once and awhile I could get my ponytail to look like I wanted it to. It did not however stay in place like it says it should. I had to fix my ponytail several times a day and now after 4 months of use my pony-o is broken. This so called special copper inside simply broke in half. POS, don't waste your money!!
Works great on "dirty" hair!
I'm surprised at how well this works on my fine hair. I'm on day two with my hair, and this sucker isn't budging. I have naturally curly hair, but straightened it after washing because I wanted to test the Pony-O when I actually had straight hair. Works great so far. I also tried it on a wig with synthetic straight hair and it would not stay. Not surprising though.
Total waste of money and time
Total waste of money and time. One might even go a far as to call it a scam. If you have any hair at all, these will do nothing but frustrate you even more about how there still isn't a hair accessory that can effectively hold up your hair. Think of all of the wild engineering in the world. Why can't anything help my hair stay up and in place for more than an hour?
CANNOT recommend!
I received my pony-o order June 26, 2020 (it took over 2 weeks to arrive) and started using it promptly. I do feel it limited the damage vs. a covered elastic, though not much different from a velvet scrunchie. I did like the added lift over a scrunchie and tried some of the suggested styles in your videos though few worked well for my fine hair. However, I am extremely disappointed that, despite being compulsive about following your directions for use and storage, the malleable metal in my 1.0 pony-o broke after 8 weeks and is now useless. I also also purchased the bun barz, which I was so excited to use, but it absolutely does not work with my fine hair, even when combined with the pony-o 2.0 as shown on the videos; the ends simply do not stay together and the bun falls apart. So, all in all, I am quite disappointed in the quality of the products compared to the money I spent. Great idea but less than desirable execution. I wrote the company about my experience and they offered to replace the product if I would send them pictures and pay $3.50 S/H, but I saw no reason to throw good money after bad. Eileen
Save your money!
Don't waste your money. I like how all the reviews on their site are positive ones. The pony-o doesn't stay on well. I have medium to thick hair straight hair and it slides out and doesn't stay erect (haha). I've tried multiple times and it will not give you the tight hold you desire. So if you desire a limp, floppy ponytail then this is for you.
