We purchased a loft chicken coop and 8 garden boxes. Customer service team was super knowledgeable, patient answering allllll my questions, and easy to reach (had to call a few times to narrow things down). All items were packed with care (no broken parts during shipping). The coop was a project to assemble (but easy and clear directions helped). LOVE the coop. It’s the Taj Mahal of chicken coops! Ha. Our hens are very happy with their new space. Garden boxes are the exactly what I was looking for. Super sturdy and beautiful. I looked all over for heavy duty beds-these are perfect! I have had an original Round Top coop since 2017 and it has been great. It was easy to assemble, and the parts fit together nicely. Unfortunately , the Starter Chicken Coop Model 2 that this review addresses is not the value for the money I hoped it would be. The quality of the wood and hardware are very good. They are much better than the foreign coops. However, the assembly was difficult because the panels and doors didn’t fit together well. After careful squaring and leveling panel edges and doors had to be sanded down to open and close properly. Some of the joints held together by staples had separated during shipment. Right now the design doesn’t fit my 4, 7 week old chicks. I purchased ‘booster’ perches until the chicks are big enough to safely access on the coop perch. It appears that a ladder or ramp is needed to reach the perch and egg box. I also had some trouble maneuvering the automatic waterer in place, and will probably need help removing it for cleaning. I do like the automatic feeder, and that the entire front panel is removable for cleaning. Based on my experience, the main area of improvement for the company would be quality control.

We recently purchased the Round Top XL coop, which was our second coop from Roost and Root. Could not be more pleased with the quality and attention to detail given in preparing the coop for assembly. My wife and I had no issues with assembly and look forward to our flock enjoying their new space. (Actually I will also enjoy not having the bend over to clean !!!)

Your chicken coop is well made and heavy enough to last for years. It was easy to put together. The only thing I had to do was replace the latches on the egg door and the other large upper door with lockable latches like you have on the extended run. We have a raccoon problem and unfortunately they are very adept at opening latches. The chickens see to be happy as well. They never missed a laying day with the transfer to the new coop!

We've had hens for 7 years in Chicago, and recently expanded our flock to 16 - so, I started looking for a walk in coop that was a) beautiful and b) functional. The cost of this one was daunting, and worth every penny. The pallet fit into our garage (great delivery service) and we laid everything out and built it on one day. Team of 3. Took my hens some time to adjust, but they're now roosting and laying and happy cluckers. Hardest part was leveling the ground. We paired it with an Omlet auto door and run. Absolutely no regrets.

I like the overall look and design of the coop. I enjoyed assembling it. The hardware seems good quality. I like the integrated feed and water. I was disappointed that a few of the pieces of wood were cracked/split or staples had pulled away and the pieces had to be re-stapled. Sometimes the instructions would state to use predrilled holes when there weren’t any at that location. The tolerances for the sections weren’t as exact as I would have hoped so the unit wasn’t completely flush together once assembled in various areas. I paid for next box mats that didn’t arrive and I haven’t received word on when or if I should expect to get them. I had been hoping that by spending 4 times more than a unit from tractor supply, that I’d have a really elegant coop but I have to admit that I probably wouldn’t have purchased this one, knowing what I know now.

My 14 year old daughter and I easily built our chicken coop in about 3 hours. Directions were great, quality of material was above expectations. It is easily moveable with two adults, not too heavy Highly recommend your product to others.
