5/5 stars!

We would recommend Inca Expert to anyone and absolutely loved our trip. The hotels were comfortable, clean, and safe. We always knew where we were going and had rides to get there that were accommodating and helpful. The guides were excellent and we could not have been happier about all of the different places throughout Peru that we got to explore.

The Trip of a Lifetime for Two Active Septuagenarians

Our trip to Peru, organized by Inca Expert with our outstanding travel advisor, Liz Sperling, was the trip of a lifetime for my husband and I, two physically and intellectually active septuagenarians. The trip was individualized to our interests in nature and astrophotography, archeology, history, and the arts. Every aspect of the tour was highly educational. We remain astounded by the intellectual prowess and enormous social sensitivity of the numerous private tour guides available to us in each location of the trip: Lima (Huca Pucliana; Peruvian Paso horse show and folk dancing; city & Larco Museum tour, Barranco walking tour; Parque del Amor), Trujillo (Sun & Moon Temple; Husacas de Moche Museum), Chan Chan; Huanchaco, El Brujo Archeological Complex and Cao Museum-Chiclaya, Tucume and Sipon Museums, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puma, Lake Titicaca, PeruRail Titicaca-Puno to Cusco, Cusco, group weaving workshop and lunch in the Sacred City, Maras and Moray tour, Ollantaytambo Fortress, group Pachmanca lunch, Machu Picchu, and Amazon Rainforest Excursions at Posada Amazonas (near Puerto Maldonado). We spent the entire month in Peru because we are at an age when we want the full experience in travel. The cultural and nature spots met our needs perfectly. We are two PhDs and really appreciated having private guides explain everything to us and answer our questions. We were pleased with every lodging and the wonderful staff at each hotel or inn. Transportation was excellent, whether by private car, railway, or domestic flights. At each step of the way, Inca Expert Travel guides and drivers were available to walk us through transportation and hotel check-in needs. In addition, it was easy to contact INCA Expert 24 hour service representatives, as needed, at the Lima or Cusco office, if we had any questions or problems. Our concerns were answered rapidly and conscientiously. The highlight of expert service came on August 23rd. While at the Cusco Airport near the gate for our flight to Puerto Maldonado, I realized that I had misplaced my travel pouch which contained three credit cards. At 10:33 am, I used WhatsApp to contact INCA Expert Cusco, Sacred Valley, noting that I thought I had left the pouch in our room at the Maytaq Hotel at 10:33 am. By 10:43 am, Inca Expert staff let me know that they had found my pouch at the hotel, and I was asked if I was in the embarking zone. Mariella, talked to me on the telephone as well as remaining in frequent contact via What's App, indicating that a staff member, Hugo, would bring my misplaced pouch directly to the Cusco airport. Mariella worked with Latham Airline and Security to direct me as to how to rapidly return through Security to meet up with the kind and effective Hugo and how best to return to Departures. My lost pouch was returned by 11:10 or 11:15 am, only minutes after I first let the INCA Expert team know about this important, missing item. As I wrote then, "I will recommend Inca Expert to everyone!!!" Now, we can't say enough good things about our travel advisor, Liz Sperling. Liz answered all of our questions and followed up on every concern we had prior to and in one case during our trip. For example, she let us know where we could have laundry done and how much it cost. She clarified that my husband could take photography equipment in addition to his one bag on the train to Machu Picchu. She made sure that I could use my trekking poles (with rubber caps) at archeological sites and nature sites, an absolute must for some of us who are over age seventy. She was sensitive to my concerns about a chronic medical condition and how that could best be addressed during our travels. After I let her know that one one domestic connection, my husband and I were seated in separate rows, she made absolutely sure that we were sitting together on all remaining domestic transportation. Liz advised us on places to eat and scheduled two special night photography private tours for my husband John. The hotels and lodges she helped us select were perfect for our needs. Our guides were so skilled, that we felt like we could have become personal friends with many of them if we lived in Peru. In short, this was an outstanding trip, the memory of which we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

This has been a year of travel for me…

This has been a year of travel for me and trying to experience as many places as possible while balancing working was a big challenge. I have planned all of my other trips this year without a travel guide. I would research the areas and plan everything on my own. This worked for me but did take a lot of planning and researching to make those trips smooth aswell. I had an open long weekend coming up in my schedule and had nothing planned. I quickly tried to put together a trip somewhere but was going back and forth between Norway, Spain and South America. While searching online ideas for the trip I came across Inca Expert Travel. I looked over the website and decided to give it a shot. This turned out to be the best decision I could have made. I was a bit hesitant because I do like to travel solo and was worried I would end up on a huge bus with a large group of people but after reading the reviews, this seemed like the best fit. From our first introduction email to the final call before I left I was truly impressed with your knowledge and guidance on how to fit so much into 5 days. You answered all my questions and gave me the lists of things I would need to make the journey a success. I was completely prepared to go. There was still a bit of hesitation the first day of travel but from the moment I stepped off the plane in Lima at 11pm and you were there waiting I knew things were going to be great. The amount of attention to the itinerary and how accurate it was, was a great surprise. There was never a moment I felt like I was not having to figure things out on my own. Every step from the domestic flight to Cusco, to the airport transfer to the hotel went off like clockwork. The guides were truly passionate about their work and culture and that made it so comfortable for me to enjoy and learn about the history. I felt Like I was walking through all the sites with a friend. The way the trip laid out with the city tour the first day and the second day drive to Ollantaytambo. Then the train ride to Augus calientes and then Machu Picchu was so well orchestrated and felt like there was no time wasted but also didn't feel rushed which I liked. The rainbow mountain hike you set up for me was truly amazing. I was well worth the hike and early morning pick up. Pictures do not do that experience justice. Our group also had exclusive rights to hike up along a ridge line that was not open to the public so it gave the 9 of us a special moment away from the crowds. I felt like I was walking on a rainbow in the clouds. That's the only way I can describe it. That peak is 16000 feet in the air and that was my highest hike to date so that was pretty special. The second highlight to this part was when the guide showed the group the zigzag way down and then he took off running straight down the side. I had a split second decision to make and most people might have thought it to be careless but I said to myself when the next time you get to run down the side of a rainbow. I quickly jumped out of the line and ran down behind the guide. When he stopped at a flat spot and saw I was right behind him a big smile came on his face. I was grinning ear to ear. He said man you just did that and I said yes. He said well keep going, I will wait for the group here so I did. At the bottom I was covered in red dust but it was well worth it. I could keep going but I think you get the point. This trip was everything and more for me and I would do it again. Next time I am hiking the inca trail though for sure.

Inca Travel Experts superb!

Inca Travel Experts organized the entire trip, soup to nuts, and it was outstanding. Everything was top notch, first class and exceeded expectations. All internal flights, airport pick-ups, tours, trek, etc. flowed seamlessly and were prompt, courteous and professional. A little better coordination with the Inca Trail trek company Apumayo could have relieved some confusion but in the end it was great.

Inca Expert travel is first class all around

We appreciated the reliability of all our guides and all the drivers who picked us up from various locations. It was a relief to have that transportation set up for us - there was never a concern about getting to the hotel or airport. All our guides and drivers were knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Also, when we had a question during our trip, Inca Experts promptly replied to our email. Our hotels were all lovely and in excellent locations. (I especially liked Casa Andina Premium in Cusco!)

Great trip!

Inca Expert planned a fantastic trip for us. It was a private tour for 2 couples. From the first email to the final details, Noelia was great. She answered all of our questions very promptly. We were always picked up on time for tours and met at the airport as soon as we left baggage claim. The guides were all very nice, knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. Even though we choose 3 star hotels, they were all fantastic. Better than we expected. I cannot not say enough good things about Inca Expert. I would highly recommend them if you are interested in visiting Peru.

Inca Experts were terrific

Inca Experts were terrific. The guides and the drivers were personal, interesting, very knowledgeable about Peru and its context with the world. They guided us through many different types of architectural historical aspects...along with guidance on ATM's, restaurants, souvenirs, and textile shops. Delightful trip.
