Terrible products - No refunds allowed

Terrible products. Terrible customer service. Not customer friendly. Not able to get credit for returns, they will send your items back to you that you didn’t want. They keep sending you boxes even after you cancel. Their customer service is a bot. Stately Men has terrible reviews on all platforms. Stay away - Clayton

I wish I had looked at these reviews…

I wish I had looked at these reviews before I ordered. The clothes were extremely cheap. I didn't pay much much attention to the fact that you can't just send them back for a refund. I am trying to exchange almost everything in the box, with the hope that maybe I'll find something I will wear. If not it looks like some people are going to get brand new donated clothes.

Terrible experience, STAY AWAY

Terrible experience. Signed up for a subscription on Sunday March 5th, 2023. I noticed that they charged me for 2 subscriptions although I only signed up for 1. I messaged them on Sunday but then attempted to reach them again on Monday through messaging, phone, and even left a voicemail which they said they would respond to in 24 hrs. They never responded. Tuesday I was finally able to get in contact with someone in the afternoon and I attempted to cancel my subscription as dealing with them was more troublesome then convenient, and they would not allow me to. They first said they would at a $40 dollar charge for each subscription, even though one of them was erroneous and I was not at fault. Then they said they are unable to give any refunds at all, under any circumstances. They are now trying to force me to remain a subscriber. Stay away from this service. Their customer service is nonexistent as are their business ethics. This company operates in a fraudulent manner in my personal opinion. I’m letting my bank deal with them as I don’t have the time to invest into dealing with them. They have D- standing with the Better Business Bureau.

The first subscription box went fine…

The first subscription box went fine and I liked the clothes and thought I would keep them all. What they don't tell you is that there are no returns on subscriptions. So everything you get in the box is yours even if you don't like it. The second box I received had almost exactly the same clothes as the first but in different colors and when I asked for a refund they refused. I highly recommend not trying this company, they hold you hostage with whatever they decide to send you in the box. Most other professional styled clothing companies at least allow you the dignity to return items you do not like for a refund. What a rip off!

Clothes were really cheap looking and not at all in line with what I said my style is. They don't do any sort of refunds and the exchange process is very cumbersome. And you have no way of knowing of what they send with the exchange will be any better than what they sent the first time. Seems like they are trying to wear you down so you just give up and keep whatever they send you no matter how bad it is.

I have tried three box services - this one ranks at the bottom.

I have tried three box services – Trunk Club, Stich Fix and Statelymen. Statelymen ranks at the bottom. Their a few reasons why Statelymen is not a good service. First, I do want to acknowledge what they are great at... they are friendly. They have even been accommodating. Stately doesn't appear to actually provide any customized service. If they do then they do an extremely poor job. They claim to have a stylist and that they review your profile, needs, orders, etcetera in order to send you clothes specifically picked out for you. As I stated, I think this isn't accurate. For starters I provided them with a very robust profile and significant guidance. I dress loudly; I have asked for colorful items, items without logos, and explained my extroverted style. I also requested no boots. Despite these directions for the past five boxes they have sent me nothing but blacks, greys, browns, one single maroon shirt, a pair of cheap boots and a single blue collared shirt. So the exact opposite of my style profile. Several of the items have been essentially same. Example - one box I received a polo shirt in long sleeve and the next month I got the exact same shirt in short sleeve. It appears the stylist has no idea what previous clothes I have been sent otherwise these things wouldn't happen. Or they have no real clothing selection at Statelymen. To further illustrate how poorly they "curate", I attempted to return pants that had the same color as pants received in my last box but they refused unti I sent a picture of both pants to confirm the color was the same. Other box services list photos of the items sent on their website so both you and the stylist can see what you like and build upon existing outfits. Stately lacks this feature. So stylists don’t appear to have the information they need to be successful. Experience: I sent back my last box and explained that I wanted a refund. THEY DONT DO REFUNDS. I explained that my last few boxes were awful and the stylist clearly failed to review my style profile to find matching clothing. They agreed to exchange all of my clothing (still no refund) but wanted additional information as to why I was dissatisfied. I elaborated by pointing out that they literally didn’t send me anything that matched my profile. When I received my new box as an exchange it was nearly the same clothing. One item was actually of descent quality. One shirt did have blue highlights but nearly matched another shirt they sent which was white and grey. They swapped out the boots I clearly didn’t need with poor quality shoes that looked “okay.” Two of the shirts sent were a different size than listed on my profile and I had to exchange them. Sadly, when trying to fix the problem they clearly did not review my style profile and sent me similar stuff. Thus, friendly but terrible. Exchanges: You can chat with them via text. I requested an exchange via text and I was sent a text back requesting I write an email with my exchange request. I sent them an email asking for an exchange and they responded by asking me to go to their website. I went to their website to ask for an exchange but the website didn’t recognize my order number. I sent another email asking for help and explained the problem with the website accepting the order number. I received a generic response asking me to try the website to ask for an exchange. So ultimately they were no help. I did end up figuring out the problem was on my end because I was including the wrong email address… but this is something they can have helped me figure out several days earlier. Quality: The clothes are okay. If I liked the clothes I might prefer them over Stichfix… but I didn't. Stichfix quality isn’t the greatest but the clothes look better overall. You get a better deal over at Stichfix. Stately tries to tell you that you’re getting a great deal. Example - They suggest the jacket you just got is worth $200 but you paid way less. The clothes even have the tags to match the price point. I seriously doubt these clothes are really worth the price on their tags. I’m not accusing them of marking up their clothing just to appear to be giving you a great deal… but that's the appearance they're giving customers. That’s it! My claims are opinions based on my observations. My guesses should not be taken to be fact. I am not trying to disparage Stately. They may be worth checking out but if your first box is not satisfactory then maybe consider my experience before asking for another shipment. In response to Stately below: Did you even read my comments? The issue was lack of styling - not brands. Listen to your customers and get some colors in your selection. Its an easy fix. I gave great styling directions and your team ignored them even after pointing out that you ignored them. Why should I pay for a service you fail to provide???

Beware of recurring charges and zero return policy.

This is not a box club that makes your experience easy. The return policy is non-existent. If it doesn’t fit or you don’t like the style there are restocking fees and hassles. Do NOT trust this company for a good experience. Update 8/5/23: The 6 month delay on a response to my review is not surprising. Looking back at my records I see that I tried to cancel the order before it was filled, immediately after I realized there was an automated recurring charge, in this case about $500. When I tried to cancel the order I received this response “Per our terms and conditions, we do not offer refunds and are unable to cancel orders once they have been placed.” They had not yet fulfilled the order nor shipped it. So I received $500 in clothes I did not ask for nor want. This was shocking after using other box clubs(StitchFix since 2016) who provide packaging and return slips with every order to make it easy to return items for a full refund. Stately will not survive long with these abusive policies in place. It’s a shame because their clothes selections are actually decent.

Stately Men is not providing me the…

Stately Men is not providing me the service that my girlfriend paid for me to have. She purchased two gift certificates for me as a Christmas gift. When I set up a profile and tried to use the gift cards I was repeatedly (at least 8 times) required to fill out a repeat profile. No subscription was set up. I suspect this is a computer issue. I've been dealing with this problem with them since Feb 3rd. At first, I waited 45 mins online for a response to my problem of setting up a subscription before having to give up with no response/resolution. I later got an email offering "help" with the process, but not in a timely manner. Since then I've had multiple emails and one conversation with their representatives NONE of which have been helpful. They have offered a solution to setting up a subscription with a gift card that has not proven helpful more than 8 times and keep telling me to do the same thing over and over again. Nothing different. I was told by a representative that I could speak with their boss at a specific time that was convenient for me, only to be told later it was a miscommunication and that I would not be speaking with anyone. I finally got an email from a superior, and all I've received is the same unhelpful guidance and no resolution to the problem. I have received no clothing! I've lost confidence and trust in this company to help me, therefore I requested a refund. I've been denied repeatedly. They have stolen from my girlfriend. This is stealing since they have taken money from her without providing the service they promised. Offering solutions that are not helpful is NOT good customer service. Taking money from someone and not providing the promised service is theft.
