Delayed luggage

My luggage was lost on my flights out to my holiday destination, and I needed to replace some shoes that were in my hold luggage. Upon putting the claim in, I recived the full refund for the new shoes I bought withing 2 days, and with no excess fee.

Great staff and quick response!

After having an accident abroad - never a fun experience - I was able to get in touch with True Traveller straight away. They opened my case and were patient to wait for information as I navigated a very rural health care system. They were able to arrange a guaranteed payment with the hospital before I got there, so I didn't have to pay for any medical costs outright, which was amazing. They covered everything and I'm so grateful to the quick and responsive staff who answered every question I had with confidence and patience. For a backpacker, this level of service is rare so I am beyond grateful for it. Thank you so much to everyone at True Traveller and AXA!

Not flexible as promised at time of purchase

Be very careful when buying a policy. They may appear helpful and flexible at the time you wish to buy, but if you need to make policy changes after the cooling off period they won't let you, and unlike their competitors you won't be able to get a pro-rated refund. Stay clear! Edit: there are many inaccuracies in the response by True Traveller. I have only posted one other review which seems fair. Dogtag provided a pro-rata refund and Allianz cover the aforementioned extreme activities at a significantly lower price. When you are a repeat customer and paying a premium price for insurance services you absolutely expect good flexible service. Take a look at any other form of insurance and making changes to the policy (other than the trivial ones they have mentioned) is possible. In my opinion the problem with True Traveller is that you're working with an expensive insurance middle man who adds a large premium without adding value to the product. Edit 2: I am still £270 down, and received an aggressive email from True Traveller encouraging me to modify my review when it is entirely accurate. By the way I have never enquired about "motorcycle racing" 🙄 However, I think we have reached a compromise solution and that is True Traveller recommending that you get in touch with other insurance companies - this we can finally agree on 😃

Super impressed with true traveller…

Super impressed with true traveller insurance! I am currently backpacking and unfortunately became ill, the process to contact my insurance was really clear and easy to follow. Patrik was really quick to respond and super polite (even if I had accidentally sent him the wrong form!). He kept me updated every step of the way and within 3 days I had recieved the money back. Thank you!
