Terrible Experiences with OneRent
Our move in experience was truly terrible and given the chance, I will never use OneRent again (and would certainly not recommend it to anyone). For context, we toured the home in late September and were told that the home was nearly move-in ready, but that they wanted us to delay our move-in until October 1st to clean the home and fix the obviously broken items (the garage door, the mailbox, the shutters in the upstairs bedroom). When we arrived at the house, it was clear that nothing had been done to the house since the last tenants moved out. It was incredibly dirty, all of the broken things we noticed during the house tour were still broken in addition to a host of other issues including but not limited to: metal in power sockets, broken microwave, holes in walls, wires sticking out of walls, nails in walls, scratched walls, missing paint, missing drain covers, missing vent covers, thermostat removed from wall, missing lightbulbs, broken side gate, broken windows, missing panel and rod in master closet, mold, and mouse droppings. The foremost and most pressing of the maintenance issues with the house was that at move-in there was no running water in the house. The water that did run was brown, murky, and smelly and filled the tubs, toilets, and sinks. There were people inside who had been asked last minute by OneRent to clean the home, but they were equally frustrated, as they could not do much without running water. When we tried to call OneRent about the water, we were told that the owner said there was running water and told that we had not activated the water with the city. Both of these were false, we had set up our accounts with the water department the week before, and water outside was working. It took us 5 hours, tens of phone calls, and multiple people calling to finally get someone to send out a plumber (and in the end, it was not One Rent who called him, it was the owner). At one point, I called the 24/7 Maintenance line but was told that all employees were in a meeting for the next hour and would not be answering calls. How can you call something a 24/7 line when there was at least an hour when no one was answering calls? What if this was a life-threatening emergency? It took a day for the plumber to clear enough pipes in the house to allow us to have water in sinks, toilets, and one shower. It has taken more than 6 months of living in this house for 70% of the issues to be fixed (by the owner, not OneRent). We have not been contacting them for maintenance issues, as we can never get a straight answer from anyone or ever talk to the same person twice. The people on the phone always repeat that they “understand”, but they clearly do not. They seem mostly concerned about how they will be rated for their customer service and survey results, but not how or if they are actually helping customers. I think this stems from more of a larger company organizational issue rather than the fault of the individual people we spoke with. At this point OneRent's only function is to collect our money for the homeowner and nothing else.

Pleasant experience
We have been with Onerent for almost a year, and it has been a smooth experience. Paying the monthly rent is simple and easy, and they also have great, active communication. They are responsive when it comes to addressing questions and or concerns, as well as scheduling the inspection. So far so good!

I have reached out to Onerent in last year March(2019) to find tenant for my house in Livermore. They helped me to find tenant quickly once they understood my requirements. Since then, they have been managing my property and doing an excellent job. They have been closely following up with tenant and me on any house related issues, lease extensions etc. I found them very responsive and available all the time for quarries. Overall, I am very happy with service they are providing.

If I could give negative reviews I would! Stay far away from OneRent. The customer service is awful and apartment issues have been neglected to the point that OneRent had to settle with us in court — a process that cost them well over what it would be to fix the issue itself! The company is poorly run and is truly a 3rd party that has no insight into the actual property you may be renting. Highly recommended to AVOID this property management group to save yourself time and headaches.

Such a terrible experience with Onerent. They would never answered the phone. They would never advised you. No one cared your property. They worked only when you had a chance to complain. They will charge you for doing nothing and wasting time. Never trust it again.
