Onerent Incompetence and Privacy Issues - Trustpilot misleading rating

I am 3 days away from move-in date. I have no information on keys. I have no information on financial commitments over-and-above the rental. My lease start date on the Onerent site is incorrect. I paid over my deposit and first month rent within the 24-hours Onerent was demanding. My renter's profile was not available to pay the funds for 24 hours after I signed the lease. I have asked for my lease details to be corrected on my profile - they have not. I see the property I have paid my deposit and rental for is still available for leasing on the Onerent web site. I have already given Onerent a poor rating because I had to text all my personal and private information to their agents who apparently could not see my documents on their "secure" web site. I decided to go and meet the owner on Sunday. He had received a copy of my renters insurance from AAA but had not heard from Onerent with regard to my tenancy. This company behaves like a bunch of scammers. I originally decided against filing a complaint with the CA DRE and Better Business Bureau but I am now going to do so. This is beyond incompetent when dealing with people's financial assets and physical well-being. This company's ownership has zero interest in their business which is proven by the fact that they have more "Poor" (1-star) reviews than anything else over time and done nothing about it. Trustpilot is also at fault here because the 3-star rating is completely misleading. 42% of this company's reviews fall into the worst category. That should earn them a rating of about 1.7 stars. I am willing to place a bet, with a high degree of confidence, that the owners and senior management look at the 3-star rating and pat themselves on the back saying it's ok. It's not. BTW - my prior review from 2 weeks ago after the house hunting and web site privacy issues is missing from Trustpilot - What happened there? As if the above was not enough proof of how bad Onerent is, I now I receive the below email, SENT TO MY EMAIL ADDRESS, which is the unique identifier for my renter's profile, where I have to complete financial transactions by paying my rent. The same email address that identifies my profile where I uploaded ALL MY PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTS, in order to apply for this property. The email reads: "Hello David, We want to resolve any issues you might have had, but we're having a hard time finding your account. Please provide the following information so we can look deeper into your trustpilot case: 1) Mobile number 2) Email address 3) Full address of the property you're moving into Thank you for your cooperation, Team Onerent " How did this company get a license to practice?

Excellent!!!

The Onerent team is very professional. There are different representatives in charge of each progress during this leasing process. They are all experienced in their field. The tenants they chose for us are really outstanding. We do not need to worry at all. This company did their best to help us rent out our property. I appreciate their hard effort and feel lucky to work with them. Overall, I will recommend this great company, Onerent, and I will choose to work with them if there is any opportunity. Thank you so much! Flor, Emily, Ben and everyone who helped! Thanks a lot! :)

Beta quality site, lots of phone calls from Onerent

TL;DR Half baked website is overcompensated for by redundant calls from customer reps. Immediately upon trying to register an account I noticed the create a password field saying "8 characters..." (not secure) instead of "at least 8 characters..." (I created a 16+ character password that was accepted), it only went downhill from that point... While completing my renter profile, address fields kept resetting to blank if I didn't select from one the suggestions that would pop-up. Applying as a group with a partner or roommate is also confusing... I couldn't tell if I should add them as a "co-signer" or a "co-applicant. Once my partner was added to the group it was unclear if they also needed to apply to the property on their end so we both did and then it listed the same property twice in the "applications" section of our Onerent portals. Weirder yet is that you can't click on recommended properties or even the property you've already applied for, you need to go back to their listings map and manually search for it again to view the listing. After uploading all our documents, ID, W2, paystubs etc we both received a cryptic SMS and email saying; "Your profile cannot be processed until you submit all required info and documents:" No documents were listed... It was unclear if there was an error with our document upload but it was after office hours so we waited to see what would happen the next day. Then out of the blue the next day my partner gets a call from one of the Onerent reps to confirm a bunch of basic profile questions we just filled-out. Before too long I get another call saying they had submitted the application to the owner for review, (apparently the documents I uploaded were fine). A few hours later I get a call saying the offer has been accepted by the property owner and we have until 5:00 pm to sign the lease to get a move-in bonus. Between all the jumping through hoops and seemingly unnecessary calls we already had a bad taste in our mouths and were apprehensive about needing to deal with Onerent as the property management and paying our rent via their awful website, we decided to pass on the lease we were offered.

Utterly DISSAPPOINTED!

Utterly DISSAPPOINTED!! 1. LACK OF COMMUNICATION. There were TOO MANY PEOPLE involved: Field operation specialist (the one who are taking the pic), leasing manager (point of contact), people who edit the website, application team(the one who contacted the potential tenant), dispatcher, fielder, success team, termination specialist, etc. They dont feel the urgency of getting me a tenant bcause each person feel like they’ve done their bare minimum part. 2. I only have 3 weeks to find a new tenant, but they WASTED SO MUCH TIME (1 week) to take a pictures of the house and to put it on the website. The manager kept putting the WRONG PRICING (I told her 3 times through messages and phones) 3. VERY PASSIVE. I am the one who keep calling the manager for an update where should be the other way around!! If i dont call, nobody will let me know anything 4. They say that the fielder will notify me one hour prior to showing, but NO ONE will call me. There is this one time the lease manager call me after the showing was done, she went like this “Hi, I have an update for you, there will be a showing at 11... oh sorry its 11:30 already. Can you verify if the attendee is there already?”To me thats the peak of an INCOMPETENCY a manager can have. 5. Despite all that I still have to pay 250 for termination fee for the worst service ever!! IM DONE WITH ONERENT. CIAO!

Worse service ever had in entire life

Worse service ever had in entire life! They made us create an account and pay rent and security deposit . They then took the following months rent out of the account without asking and caused us massive overcharges and days off of work to deal with it. We couldn’t feed our kid or get insurance for our business as a result. They then made us get cashiers checks for everything else bc they cancelled the portals To pay because of their mistakes. We had to take more time off work and pay for cashiers check me And make priority mail to them because of their mistakes. They ended up costing us nearly $500 from their mistakes and continue to endlessly make mistakes. DO NOT HIRE ONERENT! They take your money, make mistakes; you will pay dearly for their mistakes with your time and money!
