I am a solo female traveller who enjoys landscape photography as a hobby and because this was my first trip abroad on my own I decided to book a one to one workshop with Ian, not just for the tuition but also to enable me to photograph in areas I would not otherwise have been able to get to and Ian also provided Hotel pick up and drop off. I attended the workshop on 23/10/2019 around Lake Bohinj in Slovenia. The workshop was originally planned for a Sunrise, however due to Ian's knowledge he informed me the day before that storms were forecast for early morning, therefore recommended we changed to an 11.30am pickup instead and then stay out later for Sunset and the Blue Hour. When we arrived at Lake Bohinj, Ian took me a walk around various possible composition points and he was very informative in what to look for in a composition and how to research where the best light will be depending on the time of day. He gave me details of Apps he recommended for accurate weather forecasts and to advise on where the sun would rise and set etc. Although the heavy storms had passed, the sky remained very grey and cloudy most of the day, therefore Ian took me to two lakeside locations and a beautiful waterfall quite high up in the mountains where we could make the most of the moody conditions. Unfortunately the cloudy weather did not improve enough for me to photograph a Sunset, however Ian took me to a spot where I was able to photograph in the Blue Hour that follows Sunset which was a new experience for me and I learnt such a lot. Throughout the day Ian allowed me to set up my own compositions and then would advise on focal point, aperture, ISO etc. and if filters could improve the exposure depending on the light. He also gave advice on long exposures, when and when not to try them depending on the movement of the clouds and water and also how to reduce the exposure time by changing other settings on the camera. Ian's method of teaching is excellent and he answered all my questions in an easy to understand way. Ian is a very friendly and easy to talk to guy and his expertise in landscape photography is evident. I would not hesitate to book another workshop with him.

Spent a fantastic 3 days in Slovenia on Ian's autumn landscape photography workshop and dispite torrential rain Ian still manage to get us in places to shoot. Service appears interesting but is ultimately the result of there not being nearly enough parking areas for Bikes (motor or push bike) in the city of London. No one asked me for any ID or reference point when collecting my bike.

Central location, easy booking system, smooth drop-off and collect, useful additional services such as cleaning and servicing. I felt at ease leaving my bicycle in a safe place.

Hidden Treasure!! I’ve wanted to stay at this site for a good while. The summer months get booked up way in advance, so best to keep checking availability and book sooner rather than later. I booked for two nights, ideally, I wanted three, but the Friday was not available on this occasion, however it was a late booking and I was not disappointed. I received an email prior to my arrival, which was well detailed about the site and the surrounding areas, this was really helpful. Upon arrival, you go straight to your booked pitch, the email explains everything and the signs within the farm are well placed. All of the pitches have an outstanding view of the South Downs and a perfect location to watch the Sun go down on a clear day. Each pitch has a fresh water tap and EHU. There is a 1 shower room, 2 toilets, washing up facility and washing machine (machine comes with a small charge) these facilities are pristine and well attended by the owners. Phil, one of the owners stopped and had a chat with me and was really helpful with more detail of the surrounding area. I personally can’t wait to get back for another stay of pure tranquillity. Thanks Phil & Anita for providing an outstanding CL site.

We loved our stay at Bow Hill... so quiet and peaceful, with amazing views across the south downs. The pitches are huge, level and fully serviced. The shower and toilets are the cleanest we've seen.! Washing up area, plus coin operated washing machine and dryer. There are many walks from site and a couple of lovely pubs you can walk to as well. While we were there we booked to come back .. Definitely one for repeat visits.!!

Like many of Phil and Anita’s guests we visit the site regularly. If you are looking for peace and quiet, spacious pitches and outstanding views this is the site for you. Each year when we arrive we find Phil has been hard at work making improvements. This year the already excellent toilet block has had an upgrade. Can’t wait for our next visit as we know we will get a warm welcome and a peaceful stay.

The site is immaculate and well cared for with large fully serviced pitches and a toilet/shower block with washing up sink and washing machine and tumble drier. Superb spotlessly clean facilities. Bow Hill farm has quickly become our best site, uncomplicated sense of exclusivity from the moment you arrive, a small number of pitches all with great views adds to the feeling of private tranquility. Beautiful quiet clean site owners leave you to get on with it but are around if you need them. 2 pubs in walking distance one longer than the other but worth the walk if weather is good. We came 3 times this year and will be back next year. My only negative is lack of washing up facilities but we do have our own and shower is huge and very clean but not a lot of oomph sadly
