Cancellation policy is absolutely crap

Cancellation policy is absolutely crap. You should look into changing it. You can’t even move it to another date even with a valid reason. The reason they give is it is CHARITY and the funds are counted as donations. With enough time, members should be able to cancel or move the dates especially if it is a month away and not fully booked. If it was fully booked — totally understandable but it definitely isn’t. Considering it is still a month away, they are very inconsiderate. I did not want to cancel it but just to move it to another date. Will be rethinking our membership next year. Hopefully English Heritage will be much better.

NT won't help

We booked 2 tickets on Sunday 12th November to Stourhead Father Christmas experience having checked our eldest Grandson had finished school. The school is an accacadamy and had changed the dates and so he doesn't break up until 20th. My husband spoke to a very rude unhelpful lady at Stourhead who said we had ticked the terms and condition box and therefore they could not change the date as it was NT policy but couldn't give a reason why the policy was in place. We were not looking for a refund just to change to 22nd Dec where there are still 70 spaces available and 5.5 weeks ahead. We both then rang complaints where they too said they could not change the date even though it would be easier for them as it was NT policy. Why put a policy in place with no reason behind it. When I asked to speak to a manger I was told noone was available. When asked to be put through to the resolutions dept I was told they were working from home and would take up to 5 days to return the call. Is this because they are sat there doing nothing or you have so many complaints. I still find the NT a middle class beauracratic woke organisation who don't welcome the majority of their members especially if you have a dog or children. We all make mistakes and hope someone will help us. My biggest mistake was re joing the NT. This certainly will be the last time.

National Trust - More like National Mistrust

Excluded Christmas & Easter from your calendar yet kept other religious events and has the audacity to call it “inclusivity and wellbeing" - how dare you, be ashamed, very ashamed. National Trust - More like National Mistrust Our group of x32 NT account holders have also made a calendar of dates for 2024 which excludes your woke firm, we have decided to include English Heritage instead.

Disgrace

I along with thousands of others will be boycotting and cancelling membership because of what they have done with the calendar.Removing Christmas and Easter which are Christian festivals and leaving Muslim dates on It’s an absolute disgrace to the people of this country I truly hope no one actually buys and all Christian people stop funding them

NT is ruined by awful customer service

Unfortunately, the wonderful national trust properties are ruined by the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’ve never been totally ignored, the way I am when I contact the National Trust via email. I have sent FIVE emails in a row across a span of a month with only one responded to, which wasn’t helpful. It’s such a shame because myself and my partner love the national trust and have done for many years. But how difficult it is to get to speak to someone on the office side of things?! This is ruining my opinion of the National Trust. All I wanted was to switch my direct debit payment to another account. This is not acceptable customer service on any level. Very saddened and disappointed.

Is the National Trust ashamed of its British inheritance ?

My wife and friend recently went to National Trust at Tyntesfield in Somerset. I refused to go and support an Organisation that has become ‘Woke’ and ‘Virtue Signalling.’ The fiasco of the ‘hand wringing and grovelling apologies ’ of anyone vaguely connected with the Slave Trade was bad enough, but the recent revelation that Christian festivals like Christmas and Easter aren’t highlighted in the 2024 Calendar was the last straw. Ede, Diwali and Ramadan are obviously far more in keeping with this ridiculous and Politically Correct Organisation than presenting the British Heritage and it’s History. I’m definitely not renewing my membership, my wife can make her own decision.

How do I get to see Blickling Hall

A couple of weeks Ago llwe were in Norwich for a couple of days. We planned to go to see Blickling hall as we had greatly enjoyed a visit about 40 years ago. We checked it was open and set off but on arrival we told by a delightful lady that it was not possible. She explained that only 3 (or was it four) tours took place each day and they were fully subscribed. Not a big problem I thought. And I said we would book for the next day. I was then told that there is no booking, it is first come first serve only. So I missed out on looked forward visit and set off unhappy back to Hampshire. Can someone at the NT explain How somebody travelling from a long way away is supposed to visit the house. Perhaps they only want local people to visit. Paying dual member for the past 50 years or thereabouts, and it seems I cannot reasonably visit one of the loveliest placed on the NK’ portfolio. It seen that only local visitors can reasonably visit and as I get older I do not feel up to frying about £300 miles in a day. So I hope someone can explain why it is made so difficult or in my case impossible. I should add that I was offered the ability to walk round the apparently lovely gardens but it happened to be one of the wettest days of the year and at 75 and 76 Years old, we were not prepared to do that. I hope someone can provide a rational and understandable explanation. Thank you Richard

National Trust 'inclusive' calendar.

The 2024 National Trust 'inclusive' calendar has no mention of the CHRISTIAN holidays of EASTER and CHRISTMAS. Please do not give these over-priced virtue-signallers your money.
