Abysmal customer service

Abysmal customer service. In attempting to buy life membership for my grandson on line, a query arose so I phoned Customer Services and was on hold for 61 minutes! In the meantime, having read some of the other reviews below I was alerted to the fact that life membership no longer includes a guest. Therefore now considering English Heritage membership instead.

Been trying for three days to speak to NT Membership office today have spent 1hour 30 mins then got cut off I thought members were important….not so much in my experience 🤦‍♂️😡

I emailed to cancel my membership…

I emailed to cancel my membership 14/2/22 then again 19/2 and again today 22/2 plus I have also tried phoning but just kept on hold. No replies or communication from this organisation. I have got to the point of informing NT that my direct debit for the new membership year in march has been cancelled via my latest email. My reason for cancelling is in my email should the even bother reading them. Terrible customer service.

Another disillusioned Kymin volunteer

As someone who also worked as a volunteer for many years at The Kymin Round House I am also very disappointed that it has been converted into expensive holiday let accommodation. The one member of staff there, now redundant, worked very hard (often in her own time) with a large team of very dedicated volunteers providing a very positive visitor experience and running a wide range of events, including trails, art events, historical re-enactments and hiring it out for weddings, to ensure that it certainly was not a 'money pit' and was actually financially buoyant. All the aforementioned volunteers have now been discarded, people who over many years had developed knowlege and passion for The Kymin and its rich history. It was one of the National Trust's earliest acquisitions (top ten) and the first building in Wales. I also live locally and know that this is a cause of sadness to many local people. The National Trust still purports to be a people orientated charity and not a 'business'. I know I am one of many disenfranchised former NT volunteers who chose to give my time freely to this organisation over a long period of time. Before long, no doubt N.T. will be putting up railings around the Round House as well as already reducing the disabled parking, not to mention a paying car park for general visitors to the site (this idea has been proposed before but was resisted by locals, staff and volunteers alike).

Shocking customer service

My wife and I have been members of the National Trust for many years, and decided to gift a membership to our son. The WEB site shows, in a number of places, that the cost of an adult membership is £76.80. More expensive than I thought, but I decided to go ahead anyway. I completed all the details and "clicked" to pay only to find that the cost was £84.00. So I rang their number (03448001895) and waited on the phone listening to their recorded message for 50 minutes, with no reply, so I gave up. Whilst on the phone I sent an email to ask what was going on, and since then have written a second email. More than 24hours later I have received neither a response nor an acknowledgement to either email. I tried to ring their 'Head office' but heard only a recorded message stating that the switchboard was not being manned and I should ring 03448001895! I don't think I will.

Extremely Poor after servce

I have purchased a rolling membership for my daughter and son-in-law and have not received updated cards this year. I have rung their line several times over a two week period and cannot get through, often waiting 45 minutes. When trying t use her expired cards my daughter was told that I had not paid the annual fee!!! No one is there tio help. I have emailed head office today but do not feel hopeful for a reply. I wont be renewing next year,

Awful Customer Service

Awful Customer Service, I have now been trying to contact National Trust for over a month, you cannot get through the first time I sat for 30 minutes then they cut me off I have tried every day now and still cannot get through - how do they expect people to join when you cannot speak to them? I know you can join online but I need to talk to them - Think I will give up

Absolutely awful customer service… AVOID

Absolutely awful customer service, signed up to their individual membership 5th Feb. Didn’t get any confirmation through however they took full payment straight away. Tried emailing 3 times and got no response, then when I called I was waiting to get through for up to 45 minutes each time. Spoke to a member of staff on 10th Feb who told me that the membership was pending due to their new system and they couldn’t refund me or give me a membership number and that they would call me back same day to give me a time frame of resolution and that someone would also call me during the week to resolve it. Received neither of the calls that were promised, so called up again 17th Feb and waited another 40 minutes to speak with someone who told me that they couldn’t do anything because it was now with their resolutions team who has to speak with their finance team to which neither of those teams have a contact number and then I would have to wait for someone else to contact me in the week. The lady who I spoke with on the 17th Feb was beyond patronising and unhelpful yet to have any kind of conclusion on whether I can get my money back or receive a membership.

Fantastic customer service when we…

Fantastic customer service when we visited Carick-a-rede rope bridge. The team on site could not have been more helpful with an aging mother and a 6 year old with me. They went above and beyond to support my mother as she was unable to cross the bridge, and were super friendly with my daughter even printing her a certificate! Thank you
