BE WARNED - scummy company

BE WARNED. You will not have a good experience with the bunch. During the tenancy we used them for, it was okay. Very overpriced but you know that that is the cost of the service, the safety of only being liable for your share of the bills. I knew they were a scummy company in the second month when they removed their “free management fees offer”, and then proceeded to add an extra £10 per month to the bills package. I’m sure it was in the contract somewhere but nowhere was it made clear. Smooth sailing to the end of the tenancy. Then the refund. They advertise a refund in summer for the bills you have overpaid for - if any. I rang up the week after tenancy and was told it would take between 8-13 WEEKS, to get a refund as they need to work out how much we are owed. They know exactly how much money we have paid and how much we have used, I cannot fathom how it takes this long. I have rang up today, after a reminder for 13 weeks went off. I was told a technical error occurred meaning all refunds for accounts ending at the end of June (conveniently the time when nearly ALL student tenancies end) have had to be delayed to the middle of September. I can’t do anything, everything is in the contract. They really make it hard for you and hide these things. UPDATE: I rang up, the day of this review and the next day all of the tenants of the contract were emailed about the refund, not sure why it was as taking a while if all it took was a phone call. However, in the email it was stated that we would all receive the refund within 14 days. It has now been 14 days, and no refund for me (although the other tenants had been). Excuses after excuses about systems not working and then having to deal with lots of similar cases. IMO just use another supplier, just too much hassle.

TheBunch - A Disappointing Experience

I was initially drawn to TheBunch because they promised to handle all my bills seamlessly, but my experience has been far from satisfactory. Their website and portal are incredibly unclear and poorly designed. I've noticed that bills are often duplicated on the platform, and the system counts them as separate charges. If you don't catch these errors and point them out yourself, TheBunch will charge you for the duplicate amounts. It's frustrating to have to constantly monitor for mistakes that shouldn't be happening in the first place. While TheBunch does manage to handle the bills, the process feels shady and unreliable. In fact, it almost feels like a scam, as they end up charging more than you should be paying. If you already have an account with TheBunch, be extremely vigilant. For new customers, I would strongly advise against signing up with this company. The hassle and potential overcharging just aren't worth it.

Dont take their word for it......

After signing up for Water only and being told my payment would come out on the 31st of August, they tried to take the payment on the 18th of August - then again for around 10 times even when I had contacted them 4 times to request them to stop. I was then contacted by Yorkshire Water to say that as we were a new build our meter hadnt set properly, and therefore there would be no charge until they contacted us again - Bunch still continued to try and take £60 even after I had emailed them to say YW had said no charge. I have emailed loads, but had no replies and as at time of writing, they are still attempting to tale £59.95 on my card every day at least twice. Im not saying they are no good - just dont sign up until you have all your ducks in a row - i was told it wouldnt be a problem to do it this way - clearly someone was thinkng about their targets and KPIS rather than whether this would be a good move for the customer......when this happens I always say beware......

Awful handling of accounts

Awful handling of accounts. The bunch was recomended by the moving company, I really really wish I hadnt said yes. I have never in my life seen such a shambles of bills management. They failed to close my previous accounts, they failed to open my water account and didnt pay them to the point it was effecting my credit score, they failed to respond when emailed, their phone line has never connected, they failed to open my electricity and gas account properly and we had another bill come through for my partner. DO NOT USE, bills arent that hard to manage. Now I will have to spend 6 hours on the phone to the suppliers sorting out their mess.

Best experience

They didn't tell me it was prepaid..so imagine my shock when they started asking me for a second debit that same month...I have complained several times through emails to several different people and still I get the failed debit notifications..It is tiring

The Bunch won’t give me my final bill

The Bunch was fine when I used them for a year. However, they have been terrible since I ended my contract. I was paying a lot more than I could ever used each month (nearly double), but thought it would be fine as I will get any overpayment back at the end. Well it’s been 5 months, and still haven’t got my money back. Each time I call then up they give another reason why I can’t be paid back and tell me to call back in X time if I still haven’t received it. This has been happening for 3 months. It’s a substantial amount of money and I’m beginning to think they are never going to give it back. I added my start, end and monthly readings, but that hasn’t seemed to have helped. I would not recommend them to anyone that enjoys having their own money.
