How wonderful it is to be free of glasses and contact lenses after so many years. Both eye ops went very well and were quite painless, though one eye was a bit sore for a few hours the following day - paracetemol dealt with this. After the first eye op, I had some queries and Mr Maurino gave me an extra consultation without any extra charge.. I do need reading glasses sometimes for very small print but not for using my computer as the screen is well lit. I can highly recommend Mr Maurino and his team to anyone considering this procedure. I was absolutely terrified about the risks of having the surgery, and delayed it for about 3 years while I worked up the courage. Having had the surgery in May, II can only regret not having done it sooner. Mr Maurino was efficient and understanding, perfectly assured in what he was doing. His staff were kind and considerate, reassuring and gentle. The information that was given to me prior to the surgery was thorough and clear. On the evening of the surgery itself, the nurse was efficient and reassuring, calming my nerves and joking with me to break the tension. She provided very clear instructions and perceptive comments about how I would feel over the next few days. When I rang to ask a question a day or so later, the same nurse took my call and was very helpful, taking all the time needed to reassure me and answer my question. The procedure itself was incredibly quick, and painless. Although I had a couple of days of discomfort afterwards (as I had LASEK), it was nowhere near the level of discomfort/pain that I had anticipated: I even hosted a lunch with friends in bright sunshine in the garden 3 days after the surgery! I now have pretty perfect vision: having worn glasses since I was 8, it feels incredible. I would recommend Mr Maurino and his team without a moment's hesitation.

Having checked out three other high street laser specialists it was my consultation with Mr. Maurino that finally gave me the confidence to go ahead. You actually get to speak to the person thats going to do the procedure, for me this made all the difference. Excellent facilities and lovely support team made it a pleasurable experience from start to finish. I have recommended him to my wife...wouldn't do that lightly!

I can't believe I didnt do the operation earlier! it was so easy, quick and painless. Vincenzo Maurino is great. He went through the procedure of the LASIK treatment in detail before starting and during he kept me abreast on what was happening so I was aware. It only takes minutes and i could see from that very evening. I have had no problems whatsoever and im so so happy i did it. Wouldn't do it with anyone else and I have full confidence in Maurino's capabilities. Couldn't recommend this enough! The aftercare was also seamless. There are quite a few drops to put post operation but now I can see 20/20 so it's all worth it.

I couldn't be more pleased with the way the treatment was handled, the consultation, the after care and most importantly, the result. I no longer need to wear glasses and have better than 20-20 vision. It's made a big difference to my daily life. I would definitely recommend to anyone. The treatment itself is excellent and nothing to be worried about in my opinion. Just be sure to look after yourself properly after treatment and follow all the guidance provided.

Maurino was very reassuring during the surgery. Excellent results - I'm really pleased. The team are great and professional and the I was very impressed with the results and speed of recovery. My vision is incredible now and my eyes are so comfortable.

Clear and reassuring information at the consultation and supreme skill and care during the replacement lenses operation. Excellent and friendly office and nursing staff. Painless and quick operation. Easier than a visit to the dentist. I was worried that I would not be able to keep my eyes still during the operations but it is done in such a way as to be a non issue. You look at a light while the operation is done and your vision blurs somewhat as the old lens is removed but you feel nothing and when the new lens is inserted you can see straight away. I had worn glasses since the age of 4 and because of a strong prescription for short sightedness had a very small image so with the new lenses in my eyes images were much larger with much better geometry. I was instantly surer footed on the stairs and have found myself driving 8 mph faster in any given situation without realising until I looked at the speedo. I also had to move further away from the HD TV as I could see the pixel structure of my HD flat panel at my normal viewing distance. I think I need a 4k TV now. I also find I have less back pain when doing everyday tasks as I no longer have to adopt contorted positions in order to see what I am doing. If you are considering lens replacement I cannot recommend Vincenzo Maurino highly enough. I just wish I had my lenses replace years ago as the quality of vision is so much better than with glasses, even before I had cataracts. Roy MacDonald
